Don't think so Pete, did you not notice the lire shop stocked the same products that the British pound shop stocked, even now 2 euro is near as can be to £2 so they now gain even more than they did before. Or is that you lose more?
The last time we were in Malta all the 1 lira shops had sold out of umbrellas as it hadn't stopped raining for a week. They certainly were good value for money.
