Leave your towels at the shack then they'll put them on a bed for you the enxt day.........Always works for us............Remember to tell them what time you'll be turning up though
Thats what we always do at our shack, Aggies, trouble is even in the Nov-Dec period they'have about 30 + beds out and loads of regulars. If it's strictly 10 bed limit I can see this would cause problems. We dont want Goa to turn into a Med style carry on with constant squabbles about beds. We're usually down at the shack by 08.30. am so first come first served would'nt bother us, but not everyone is beach rats like us
The main problem is some shacks put beds right down to the waters edge, impedind the walkers. Goans in particular get very annoyed at this, and you often see letters in the local press. They get on to MPs and Police, and whatnot so action is taken against all the shack owners, not just the guilty ones. With elections in the offing, I expect there will be no relaxation of this until the voting is over.

Is this more of a North Goa thing?
At Carmona Zalor beach I counted at least 20 beds each between the two shacks. Neither had more than half occupied at one time and the police wandered by and did nothing.

Beaches more busy up north, trouble started a few years back now with certain shacks that have little beach space - Calangute/Baga, putting beds out up to the waters edge. Locals and tourists moaned (quite rightly) that they had no easy access to walk the beach, so rather than punish the shacks concerned they all got the same treatment, and they all flaunt it ! 10 beds ain't enough for any of them.
If there were no beds and the beaches were full of people on towels right up to the waters edge with no easy access to get by them, what would they do ?
I know ours will be reserved
only wish we could fly out tomorrow !!

Ganesh probably has your towels out allready in anticipation of your visit Spike mate
Plenty of beds everywhere now, but right away from the waters edge. Plenty of room to walk!
