Crackin' idea !
Well, after being proper brutal, I've managed to get daughters case down to 13 kg ( must have been the tutu's ) and mine ( soft holdall ) down to 11 kg !! Thats with the 400 bottles of suntan lotion ( HAD to get them from home bargains at £3.99 for piz buin its a steal !!)
Got a great little shampoo bar from lush, lass in shop said it was equivalent to 3 bottles, so that'll do nicely and comes in a tiny tin.
Hubby has yet to pack, but he's happy with a few nice shirts, shorts and t'shirts, so, hopefully, we're good to go !!
I really wanted to do a little shopping in playa del carmen, ooh, i'm such a girl, so got room now !!
cheers all
juby
She could always wear all the tutu's on the plane!!!
Just been to Australia for a month and struggled to find 15kgs to put in my 4kg case (making 19 of my 20kg allowance)
1 shoes on - 2 lightweight in the case.
Only needed clothes for 7 days so that is not really much - how much to you wear at home in a week?
How often do you wash outerwear - after one wear - not me - wash myself frequently so clothes stay fresh.
Rinse out clothes after wearing (no need for machine wash) and they are clean for next wearing or send them to be washed where you are staying.
Take lots of knickers from Primark so can take them or leave them.
My best friend is the just under 1kg iron from Asda or Tesco which costs less than a fiver and freshens all my clothes.
If you've gone to oz for a month and only packed for 7 days, well, fair play to you

Did you go naked the other three weeks?
I personally travel very light but do understand that many people like to wear lots of different outfits when on holiday and with all the toiletries, books etc., that have to be packed may find the 15kg weight allowance nowhere near enough.
Judith
Judith, have to agree with you there, now, am thinking that waterproof had access to a washing machine in oz, which is not gonna be the case with us average holidaymakers who may have a bit of travel wash, but, hey, may want to have a choice of outfits on our hols and don't want to 'recycle' 7days worth of outfits ! now, i'm a woman who likes to have that choice, and to be fair, its been pretty hard condesing it all into 15kg, so I'm well chuffed I've got to 11kgs !!
Juby, did you forget to mention hubby's case weighs 50kgs,
The good thing about taking the suncreams etc is you'll make room for bringing things back too, like booze etc. Although it's now probably just as cheap here in England!
I dont wash things out when im on holiday either, thats why im on holiday - to relax and not to do the usual stuff I do at home which includes washing clothes, cooking and shopping.
Have a good break
Juby you will love the bar of shampoo from Lush .............. i bought this back last year started using it in July and it was still usable well into January , its a bit pricey but well worth it , it can even go in your hand luggage. I will be taking a new one with me this year .
hi lindy...which shop did you get the soap from....is it ok for dyed hair....tweetie
Tweetie Pie, The lush solid shampoo is available in several types to suit most hair types, you get it from any Lush Shop on the highstreet or online at their website which goes by the name of lush.com i think ???
For info on lush products and their website scroll down the page in this link
With regards to travel wash, don't bother. Shampoo or shower gel is detergent, so will do the same job.
