Planning to hire a Villa in Tuscany for 1st 2 weeks in September 07.
Need one that will confortably fit 4-6 adults and 1 infant.
Never been to Villa in Tuscany before and am amazed at amount available.
Need one that is traditional...good views, character etc, maybe with pool and near village and not far to drive to towns.
Has anyone a villa thet could recommend or point me in direction of good Sites?
Also, need good flight info from Scotland as am unnaware apart from Ryanair who would fly to the area....any ideas on that too would help.
It's a nightmare getting flights from Scotland to Italy. We were meant to fly from Glasgow, but they cancelled it and we had to fly from Gatwick instead. Absolute nightmare! Flyglobespan have started doing Edinbugh to Rome this year though. That would be about a 2-3 hour drive north to Tuscany.
Ryanair fly from Prestwick to Pisa, Tuscany is a 2 hour drive from Pisa.
Hi, I suggest you a villa or an agriturismo (farmhouse) in Pisa's province .The best area is Volterra's country: Pisa airport is 40 minutes by car and Volterra is a very nice town to see. Volterra is an etruscan, roman and medioeval town. Near Volterra there's San Gimignano, a medioeval bourg, famous in all the worl for its high medioeval towers. From this area it's easy visit Pisa, Siena, Firenze and Lucca (there're betwin 40 and 60 minutes at most by car).
I've an apartment in Tuscany: exactly in Volterra's area (Pisa's province). But I think it's to small for you: it has 1 kitchen-livingroom with a double sofa bed, a double bedroom where I can add a single bed , a bathroom and a cover veranda ith table and chairs in front of the swimmingpooll. The nearest village with shops is 1 Km far. Volterra is a very nice town, it's etruscan, roman and medioeval. Near there's San Gimignano (Siena): 20 minutes by car. From here you can easily visit Pisa (40 minutes by car), Siena, Firenze and Lucca (50/60 minutes by car). The apartment is free on september from 08 to 22. Aniway, I think it's to small for you.
