It will be my Mum and Dad's wedding anniversary the day we land (2nd March) and I want to organise a surprise for them for when we get to the beach (baga beach), has anyone got any ideas, obviously I will need to do it all via email or text from this end. Do you know of anywhere that will deliver a cake to our regular shack. Any suggestions?

do you have the shack tel no....or a usual taxi driver you use, get them to give you info, or contact the hotel, and get them to arrange the cake and get a taxi to take the cake for you when you get there???? have a good celebration anyway, i think you go back the day we arrive (17th)
Let us know how you get on. Good luck.

Hey thanks for the suggestions, Deb, I've never been to east meets west, so that's an option, especially if they supply the cake there as well. Jane, we don't have a regular driver but I think I have the email of where we are staying so might give that a go. We leave on 15th so missed you again!!!! Gemma I will let you know how I get on but the only thing is if I go to one of those new coffee shops it won't be just 1 cake that I'll be coming out with.
You could always send a PM to Polly50 as well as we celebrated her husbands birthday in East Meets West at the end of November. We had a lovely night, there was a group on stage and Polly also arranged a cake and some champagne. Food is very nice in East Meets West as well. I think Polly had emailed them a few weeks before we went and got eveything arranged.

Excellent, I will give that some serious thought, is it very far from where we are staying, Riverside Regency?
Not at all Donna. Maximum 5 minutes in a taxi. Its in a lovely setting as well. I am sure you would all have a great time and probably the kind of place your mum and dad would like as well.
I remember someone asking on here before but I can't find it anywhere, is there a decent champagne available in Goa, I was going to email our BB and ask for them to arrange a cake and bottle of bubbly for when we get there. and I know this might sound a really stupid question, but do you think they will be able to arrange some balloons to put up in the bar area
the Infantaria Bakery on baga road calengutte does birthday cakes im sure if you email your hotel they will sort it for you no problems.and buy champange at airport and take it with you that way you got a decent one.
Thanks Stavros
My OH got champagne and flowers delivered to the room on my birthday, it tasted really nice and I think it was about 2500rps for both, I know coz I ended up paying the room bill on my card he said it was the thought that counted
last year sorted out lobster lunch a boat decorated with flowers, music, drinks on boat a trip around the point to candolim beach from coco beach taking in jimmies house the jail and look at river princess close up then back into the back waters including all soft drink with a birthday cake and anniversary card for the better half. and cost a fortune for a total 6 hour jaunt 40 pound uk for my wife, daughter and me. i know i know i splash out to much on her if i would have waited till night time ashoka the jewller bought her a cake i was gutted i could have saved a bit . all my lucks bad sighs.
I'm so pleased, I have just had an email from where we are staying and they are arranging for some wine and flowers and a cake with 'congratulations on your anniversary love Donna' on it to be waiting in the room, all complimentary (which I wasn't expecting) I'm so pleased I had to share it with you! I am easily pleased I know!! I just can't wait to see their faces.
How did you get on with your night time preparations, have you managed to get somewhere booked?
I was really pleased especially as they said it was all complimentary. I haven't done anything about the evening meal yet, we are usually too tired the first night, which is the actual day of their wedding anniversary, it is also my Dad's birthday on the 3rd, (the day after) so I will try and book in at East meets West, we haven't been there yet but I have read some good reports on here.

Will you be in Squeeze shack and wearing your blue wrist band? I might walk along and see you!
I am sure you would really enjoy East Meets West Stavros, food is nice. Its in Baga on the main road going towards Calangute (but at the Baga end!) all the taxi drivers know where it is.
