Hiya Dave, we are going to the Aegean Dream in three weeks and I noticed on one of your posts that the lobby bar serve drinks until 2am, Is this a free bar too?
Wristbands are the order of the day.
Have a go at all the water sports, all great fun, you wont regret it. The guys that run the watersports are all nice guys and very helpful.
Dave Thomas
Do you also happen to know if the complex runs a late checkout service or alternatively if it has a courtesy room for us who have a late flight home?
Thanks for the advice.
has anybody stayed in this hotel
I looked at doing a DIY for next year (ended up with Portland because of cost of flights) Anyway when they did my costings at the ADR I asked for the price to include the room till 8pm which they did so it may be worth e mailing them to see if you can pre book

This sounds good . hmmmmmmm another contender for 2008 i think. I did have a look at this earlier in the year and thought it sounded good. Its funny how we all seem to be short listing the same places.
I'm getting good prices of 2650 for 2 twins next year from 13 July for 2 weeks or 2732 with a sea/pool view.
I'd be grateful if anyone who has been can tell me if the sea view is worth paying extra for, or if I don't pay for it will I get rooms overlooking a car park/kitchens etc?
Also another thing that is holding me back is I've read a few reports that say that the pool area is very small for the size of the hotel, is this accurate or is it just a comment from someone with an unrealistic expectation of the size?
Thanks to anyone who answers.
I went for the sea view as the sunsets are supposed to be special and I fancied watching a few in peace!
I read the reviews re the size of the pool as well but reasoned as there is a beach and the jetties it should be OK
Lyn - I think there a few of us with much the same idea of what a holidaty is - maybe we should form a collective and sell our services to the TO's
lally - everyone makes fun of me at the amount of time i spend researching holidays . . they all come up with the same conclusion -. I should get a "proper" job preferably in a travel agents

I'm hoping Dave might still be about and can let me know about the pools. I agree when a hotel is beachside like this it does take the strain off the pools so it probably isn't that important. Wherever you go there will always be some sort of compromise.
I wish descriptions would tell you what the non-sea view rooms looked at Its one thing looking at mountains and greenery (almost as good as the sea to me), but quite another looking at a brick wall/overflowing kitchin bins etc.
Also I really would like to see Bodrum and this hotel would give us that chance and presumably Epheusus is much closer than at Olu where it had to be an overnighter.
Doe (aka chris)
. yes it would be nice to move along the coast a bit. the Bodrum area is a lot nearer ephesus , I wouldnt of thought more than a couple of hours and they have just uncovered more there. my nephew has a villa in Kusadasi which is very near Ephesus where his wifes parents live (she is half turkish) and they have just come back after being there for 5 weeks. there is a lot going on up that end of the coast. They have just seen "tarkan" (singer of kiss kiss) at the Kusadasi football stadium . they had an absolutely fabulous evening. . I was feeling really jealous .

Hi Lallygirl, many thanks for the advice, though I'd better be quick off the mark because we go in 2 weeks and 6 days, (not that I'm counting or anything)!!!
Also, are there any water slides? They do keep my two hyper boys very happy!
One last question (for now!) Is the sea warm enough to swim in at the end of May?
Thanks
Emma
Sorry for not replying earlier Re questions on Aegean Dream Resort, but been on hols for a week...........sadly only to Cornwall though.
Few replies:
a) before I went to the AD I thought that the pool area looked small. Having been there I must admit it could do with a bit more space, but I did not find it an issue. Bear in mind that the pool is only approx 5 metres from the beach and there are 2 sun bathing jetties. Also there is the slide pool and gardens in a slightly different area. A further pool is also available alongside the annex block. A big point to consider is that even though it was a liitle cramped around the main pool you could still get sunbeds here or on the beach at 9am in peak seaon when the hotel was fully occupied.
b) I dont consider it worth the extra for sea view, we didnt pay extra and still got a side sea view. We also didnt spend much time in the rooms, we watched the sunset every night in the starlight bar..........bottles of champagne available for those who like the stuff........I stuck to the EFES
c) Have a look at the hotel website http://www.aegeandreamresort.com as good photos etc etc
Dave
Sorry
Cheers Dave. Thanks for the answers. It's definately on my shortlist. The fact that you can still get sunbeds at 9am in peak is a good sign. I normally go last 2 weeks July.
I have just booked to go to the La Blanche Resort Hotel in Turgutreis next summer. This hotel opened in June 2006 and I think it is next to the Aegean Dreams. Look pretty good on the hotel website : http://www.lablanchehotel.com
