Hi Alan, hope you are well mate ?, in answer to your question you may probably be aware that there has been much recent discussion about a car park at Qui-si-sana over at Tigne, it's causing controversy though because if they do build there then yet another of Sliema's open spaces will of been gobbled up for development, then again it's never stopped them before and MEPA don't always seem to have much of a say in these things, and yes could you imagine Bisazza street on a Friday morning in summer if it was pedestrianised, for a start where would the bussses go ? and secondly how would we get from The Plough and Anchor to Il-Merill and Tony's bar on a hot night if we didn't fancy the walk ? if this happens I think I will protest :glynis .

Hi sliema2 I'm very well thanks, hope you are the same sorry to hear of your loss.
I'm trying to picture traffic weaving in and out of the narrow streets of tigne, but there weel be a way once the new tigne development is complete. I saw the huge hole they had dug out for the underground car park about a year ago. I think more buildings will have to go. about 30 odd years ago I frequented a bar in that area called the army and navy bar had some great boozy times in there, could go in with ten bob and not remember coming out

I have not been in Malta long enough to remember it this way, but this is how St Anne's Square Sliema, with the ferries in the background, looked before its magical transformation.

Hello, very intresting I have never noticed this before about the open spaces, an area like this would be nice if they brought it back.
They could then put on free open air concerts like they do in Portugal, there they get large crowds, and the pubs and kiosks would do a good trade, and keep the locals and tourist happy.
