There may be a train you can catch as I know the station in Lagos is very near the bridge at the Marina. Have been told by a friend that the train runs along the coast but not sure if PDR has a station or not - maybe one of the Algarve residents can help a little more.

We were going to get the bus a couple of years ago from Lagos to PDR so it does run between the 2. We got a taxi instead we can't remember exact price but husband said it wasn't very dear and didn't take very long.

No railway station in PDR. Nearest is Portimao, then a local bus ride or taxi.

From memory though, isn't PDR a short walk from Portimao anyway?

When we stayed in PDR we often walked into Portimao for the shops etc.

The train station is at one end of Portimao and to walk to PDR hotels it would probably take 50 mins plus it might be very hot. Not a good idea!

There are six direct buses a day between Praia da Rocha and Lagos on weekdays and four each way on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.

The times are are on my personal website at

http://www.algarvebus.info/002w.htm (towards Lagos)
http://www.algarvebus.info/002e.htm (from Lagos)

In Praia da Rocha the only stop is on the main road at the Clube Praia da Rocha, just by the roundabout where the road leads up towards the Hotel Jupiter and the seafront. Be aware that the timekeeping on this route is pretty poor, owing to traffic congestion in Portimao and elsewhere. Delays of 10 - 15 minutes are commonplace.

Otherwise you can get one of the various local buses into Portimao from where there are many more buses to/from Lagos (same timetables as above) or a few minutes walk from the bus stops is the railway station.

Last time I walked from Praia da Rocha (the Fortaleza end) to Portimao it took me 25 minutes not going very fast.
