We are looking at booking a week in Albufeira at the end of September. The main reason for picking this area is that on AlphaRooms I have found accommodation for £116 for both of us for 6 nights in a hotel with pool. On speaking to a friend who goes to Vilamoura quite regularly said she visited Albufeira last week and found it to be quite clubby and a bit like Blackpool. I gather there is an old town and new town. The hotel we have found is in the old town and I wonder whether the resort does change that much. We would prefer local taverna types, with bars and don't mind some clubs (although we wouldn't visit them). We are in early 30's so like some fun but want a bit of tradition. The hotel is Vila Recife .
