Hi,
I'm looking to book up at the Melia Cala d'Or Boutique Hotel in June for 10 nights. I've never been to Cala d'Or and am wondering if anyone knows what the hotel is like? I'm 36, partner is 32 and have a 3 year old (girl). We're looking to have nice chilled holiday, with nice food! any help, advice would be most apreciated. The other Hotel is in Sa Coma (Protur Biomar Gran Hotel & Spa), although I'm not sure if it's open yet? From the reviews I've read on this site it looks like Cala d'Or might be the better option?

The Melia Cala Dor is a fantastic hotel - 5 star I believe. I have had nothing but excellent reports on it. You could also look at Sa Marina in Cala Dor.
As for Sa Coma - I went there last week to check it out - never visited those east coast resorts. Personally it is not at all to my taste - Cala Dor is much more sophisticated, nicer restaruants, less tacky. I am sure lots of people will disagree with me about Sa Coma - it does have a nice beach but apart from that it is far too British for me. Sorry if I offend all of you out there who love the east coast resorts!

I would choose Cala D'or over Sa Coma every time. For the reasons MaryMary mentioned.
