The wife and I are thinking of going to Turkey next summer and are looking for some ideas/suggestions for resorts and hotels.
Hotel brief - Over the past few years we've been to Greek Islands - Rhodes, Crete and Zante - and have stayed in 4 and 5T hotels (last year was a Thomson Platinum) so we're looking for a similar standard of hotel. Usually go half board
Resort brief - We're both early 30s so we're looking for a resort that has a good selection of bars/tavernas and places to eat but not mad 18-30 type nightlife. Also looking for a nice beach and plenty of excursions etc in the general area of the resort.
Also we'd prefer to fly from Scotland.
Thanks, in advance, for suggestions etc.

http://www.asurotel.com for a nice hotel featured in Thomas Cook Turkey brochure...i found it a great hotel and Dalyan seems perfect for what you want.... make sure you click on to the HOTEL and not the self catering apts.
ANDY...take a look at DALYAN, try looking at
Andy, we stayed at Hotel Nur in Kalkan through Thomson back in May, check out my Hotel and resort report and yes, you can get there from Scotland !! A Discussion is running on Kalkan so just scroll through the Forum pages and you will find it. There is also the resort of Icmeler, again through Thomson. If you want the,"bright lights", then Marmaris is only ten minutes away by Dolmus. There is a big Discussion on going about this resort, running in excess of 50 pages, so you've got plenty to go at. All the very best to you and yours in your quest.
i would recomend altinkum it has something for everyone lots of places to eat/drink lots of fun bars and also a few disco type places boat trips are very cheap and there are 3 beaches to choose from we loved it there after many yaers of going to marmaris icmelor side etc give it a try thare were lots of scots in our hotel so it must be a popular flight from scotland
have a look at olu deniz or hisaronu you have everything in this area
i would also recommend you to look at "Marti Resort 5t" or "Laguna Hotel 4t" or "Le'Etoile Hotel 4T".
Also there are very nice trips to do from the resort and there are flights from Scotland to Dalaman airport(2 hrs transfer time)
Any questions welcome
Best Regards
