Thanks for your advice. but DIY? I apologise for being so naive about these things but does that mean buying flights and hotel separately, cutting out the middle man and getting a better deal?

We are currently thinking of Sharm el Skeikh, Egypt, for the hot weather and value for money but are a little concerned about being hassled to much, as Em is a young slim pretty blond and we've been told that blonde's can be targeted in exchanged for camels, and I'm not sure what level of harassment towards my girlfriend I'll be able to take.

any suggestions for somewhere else offering the same as Egypt would be greatly appreciated.

To put it into perspective, last years DIY holiday for 10 days including car hire, flights and appt for a family of 4 cost me £555.00. OK, we are in a private appt on a complex so you have to make your entertainment but it sounds that that is what you are looking for anyway. I buy the flights early, get discounted car deals because of frequent booking and I rent the appt of a family friend. He however only gives me a little bit of discount off what he would charge the general public if he was to put it on general letting. It's easy to do on the net, give it a try, it's good fun looking at what deals you can put together and you get a great deal of satisfaction when it all fits into place. Oh and finally, I would never take my family to Egypt with the world as it is. Just my opinion and choice so anybody who disagrees about Egypt don't have a go - please!!
