I am looking to book a weeks AI holiday between the dates of the last week of June first week of July 09. As we are a young couple in our mid 20's ideally we would prefer the location to be fairly central to a young and lively resort. We dont want it so close that the hotel is pratically on top of a nightclub.
The plan is to book a weeks holiday AI for a fairly reasonable price and we are currently looking for some deals available so any ideas would be welcomed. As my partner is an incedibly fussy eater and therfore the food needs to be that of typical british. English cooked breakfast, cerals and bread. Snacks burgers, chips, hotdogs and chicken nuggests. As for lunch and evening meals again more meat. Meat not cooked or drizzled in any sauce. Chips, Pasta, spag bol. Cooked dinners and BBQ food.
we dont plan on taking much money and therefore want to use the hotel facilites so entertainment is a must. A reasonable sized pool and plenty of drinking.
Am I asking for a lot.
if he is that fussy he wont like the idea of English brekki...usualy reformed bacon quite fatty and not in the least chrispy,Frankfurter type sausage,etc...H/B & A/I tend to be more of an international style [in the last 8 yrs i have only seen chips{not crispy} once], if he is that fussy you would do better going room only and buying your food out, in most resorts you will find tavern's/bars/cafe's doing a proper English with walls bacon and sausages, also you will be able to find such traditional English fare as pizza, burger king/big mac, Indian, Chinese,Mexican[in larger resorts] sorry i cant offer advice for fussy eaters as I LOVE Greek food
Well the idea is we've not got much money therefore we need to book AI so we can live from the hotel. We've not really budgeted for it. Willing to spend £800 for a week for the two of us AI.
The AI did have the greek and international items that Wizard mentioned but it also had a lot of fresh pizza and chips being cooked and there was often stuff like spag bol and nuggets in the childrens bit, but adults were taking it. Also they coooked eggs fresh in the morning. Also all the alcohol was free on the AI.
Only my personal opinion, but I dont think you can ever get a good fry up from a buffet if that's his thing. Perhaps a cheap SC apartment and then eating out is better. If you choose a touristy resort aimed at Brits in Greece there will be loads of fry-ups and Brit menus.
I think you might need to revise your budget and go somewhere else where it would be cheaper to self-cater. There are plenty of British eateries in Crete in the big towns, but again you will have to consider the extra costs of eating out ........................
Perhaps it's back to the drawing board? I'm not wanting to spoil your plans, but I think that on a spending budget -including alcohol and entertainment - of £800 for the both of you, it will be very hard to keep within it if not sadly impossible.
Don't most All Inclusives do things like burgers, chips, spag boll etc on the Childrens Menu ? Maybe there's a chance he can eat from there !

Sorry but that made me lol I remember the AI in Crete we went to had a kiddies bit but it was at a table that was only about 18 inches high so that the littles ones could reach it.
I suddenly had a vision of someone of 6ft 2in having to bob down and select their supper. They also put out lesser quantities presumably working on the theory that kids take small portions, so imagined someone having to take the whole serving tray.
they would only have to do it once before they made changes !
All the AI's I've been to have things such as chips, rice pasta, salads, cold meats, omelettes etc. You might struggle with a British brekkie though. How about a fresh smoothie, toast & boiled eggs etc.
