hi all
i was wondering if anyone knows the cheapest way of providing air con?
a timer is an option but in the middle of august if it kept going off every hour through the night the clients would be hacked off. i am not sure if i can get to the electrics to install a meter, its an apartment and i haven't checked that yet.
so is it better just to install it and let your guests run up huge bills all summer?
we have installed a 2hr timmer, but fans a also available for hotter nights, aircon can get cold for some people ie myself i like it very cool in the hot weather, but my family in the other room say they freeze with me,so a fan makes me happy on full and one on low in their room for them.will find out this summer how it works out for others
it will save a bit of money when they can't go out and leave it on all day, but hopefully won't be too annoying when it goes off every 2 hours.
well we are giving it a go,fans a cheap enough to buy,one in each bedroom, saves aircon running in other rooms, there is a thermostat on aircon ,so say you set temp for 25deg,the thermotat is in one room normally lounge,so it is a bigger room, takes longer to cool-heat,so in meantime the other rooms are smaller so get colder or warmer, that is info a company told me.i found when we were in my apartment several weeksago, the lounge waslovely, but when i opened the bedroom door it was far hotter,so it has proved to me it was right
This is a problem I have too! Do you think it would work to add an extra charge if clients want the air con based on the fact that they will leave it on full blast for the whole rental and if they don't, just remove the remote controls, this is assuming they cannot operate from the units themselves!
well for 5 wks rental it cost us 187euros leccy bill, and we dont know how much it was used,it is a hard thing to decide as people want air con,but also want to pay as little as possible rental,we hope our new plan will work out ,time will tell
