Hi Ray + Tina,
Yes you will probably need air con, but as far the price of what your particular hotel cahrges is anybodies guess, but the norm is about £1.50 per day, sorry i can't be of more help.

Hi
We fly this Friday 27th to Icmeler never bothered with air con before but taking our one year old son for the first time so me thinks we will be using it this year. We are going SC to the Alvaro Apts with airtours, has anyone a rough idea how much is charged for air con in SC apts.

Its about £15 pounds per week

Lennie,

From memory (2001) it was £3 a day for AC at the Alvaro. But you have picked an excellent base for an enjoyable holiday. We have stayed there twice in the last 4 years and really enjoyed our stay.

I am flying out to Turkey on the 4th of July and I am wondering if anyone knows if the Club Atrium apartments in Marmaris has Air Conditioning or not. I am also taking my two kids aged 6 and 8 and was wondering if these apartments have plenty for them to do.

Thanks.

yes it does. we stayed there 2 yrs ago. they did some offer where you bought say 100 hours and got 20 or 30 free somthing like that.

I reckon it could cost you £40-£50 or so for a fortnight, depends if you have it on all the time.

Also if in the studios (where we stayed), because the roof is so low down, you have to duck near the bed, one person will be freezing and the other might not get the draft and if you've got kids as well they'll want a blanket on them as one of the spare "beds" is directly under the unit. you get some good views from the balconys if you're on the right hand side of the building can see the hills etc.

Not well planned as they usually put them above a door or something.

there is another settee / bed near the cooking area, they might prefer sleeping there.

regarding kids things, there's a playground at side of the bar was ok, make them leave their shoes with you cos my daughter had a pair of sandals taken from the playground.

the night entertainment is ok, but they had karaoke every other night and it got boring especially when so much to do in Marmaris centre. the taxi rank is spitting distance so worth going into marmaris to some of the beachside restaurants that have better restaurants we only found them near the end of the holiday.

the local shop for stocking up on food was expensive so better to dolmus it to the tansas in centre marmaris stock up there and get taxi back.

swimming pools good and deceptive in size as it goes in semi circle around the pool bar area and there's proper stairs on both sides to get into the pool handy for any young kids and its shallower there. there was a couple of swinging chairs as well to sit on. They also used to check who was using sunbeds and move the towels of sunbeds (finally someone used common sense) as we know how annoying it is for people to reserve them then not appear till 3pm.

only problem we found that the noise echoed in the atrium itself all the doors to apartments are inside the atrium and when its night flights it got very noisy when we went, kids charging up and down etc.

Hi Nyle I see from another post that you are going to the Efes Inn next week, we fly out on the 29th July to stay there, and have had conflicting reports about the air conditioning can you let me know if this has now been resolved as would hate to be in that heat with unreliable air con, seen good reviews on the hotel reviews page but nothing like first hand reports, look forward to your posting when you return. Have a good holiday--- Cheers powdie :glynis

Hi Powdie,

Yip we go on Monday! Was there last July so know the place quite well. You are absolutely right Icmeler in July/August will be lovely and hot!Unless the air conditioning has been upgraded then depending on which floor you land on you will either have excellent aircon or virtually non-existing aircon!LOL! From what I can recall,if you are on either the second or third floor you should be fine but there is a questionmark about floors 1 and 4, I'll find out first hand next week!We were in 308 last year and were so chilly during the night we either had to close the shutters on the aircon or get under the bed covers! This however was not everyones experience at the Efes Inn so will let you know on my return, if you want to know anything else about it just PM me and I'll fill you in.

Hi,

We will be paying for our air conditioning locally this year at the Selen II. Does anybody know how much we should expect to pay for 2 weeks?

Is this something that we have to pay for when we arrive or leave?

We were in a Hotel last year and it was included? I thought that it was only SC apartments that you have to pay extra for??

Many thanks

Although it is more common practice with SC apartments, some hotels charge extra for A/C too... I guess the price that you should expect to pay would be around £10 per week...

Thanks! I guess the thing to do, would be to email the hotel for a true price. Many thanks

It will be more like £15.00 to £20.00 per week thats the norm this year

Hi
We stayed at the Avlu 1 this year and the a/c was £25 per week which we thought was a bit steep. We managed without it as we left the patio window and the bedroom window at the back open and had a good flow of air through. Stayed in a first floor apartment. Don't think we'd be able to manage in other months as it was getting hotter when we left on Monday.
