I'm flying with Air Malta tommorow to Malta incidently for 4 weeks, I will let you know how it goes as never flown with them before!
Thanks
Air Malta to raise Gatwick capacity
Air Malta is to raise capacity from Gatwick in the shoulder months of November and March.
Flight frequency will go up from a daily service to nine flights a week.
An additional flight will also be added over the peak Christmas travelling period.
The airline also plans to use larger aircraft on the route for the remaining winter months.
Air Malta is to increase frequency for summer 2010 from 12 to 14 weekly flights.
The measures are described as the first steps to ensure that Malta has sustainable seat capacity available to the London area for the next 18 months.
Chief commercial officer Brock Friesen said: "This is line with the airline's commercial strategy to extend the summer season and reduce the traditional traffic slowdown between the summer and winter months.
"The additional shoulder traffic will bolster the local tourism industry during this challenging period.
"Gatwick airport is one of most attractive London airports vis-à-vis leisure short break traffic that requires frequent and convenient schedules. Air Malta is committed to offer both all year round."

Do Air Malta normally have their check in desks in roughly the same area? If so can anyone tell me what area that might be please. At lease if she had some idea of where to go it might help!
Pippa
Air Malta use the South Terminal, but not a specific desk from what I can see. It's just listed as check the screens upon entry.

I was told that flights are being re-insteated from Donny again next year but can't find owt on Robin Hood site. We would fly ideally from there but dont mind East Mids, Birmingham or Leeds..
They have certainly stopped flying from Stansted and unless they reinstate the Norwich flights for Summer 2010 that will be another dropped airport.
I Have The Following Options For You, Birmingham > Malta - Monday's dpt 10:45

it was a DIY'er anyway and we had flights booked with Air Malta departing Manchester on 28 May..
so my question is, does anyone know if you can claim the tax you paid back. I know the flights are non transferrable and non refundable..it said so in the small print when we booked...but I couldnt find any mention of the fuel duty tax etc that we hand over to our lovely government.
Air malta will sellt he flights over again..and they only cost us £29 each..I am not bothered about losing that..but if i can get the tax back I would like to.
Am I entitled to the fuel tax refund?
Many thanks in advance for any replies.
Yes you can claim the tax back on an unused ticket. However check the cost of the admin fee for doing so as it can often outstrip the tax with the low cost airlines.
I read last week that someone got 54 pence per person back when they tried to reclaim the tax.
luci
cheers Luci..when I get home I will check the tickets etc...
apparantly it was difficult to do since my bank debit card that I originally paid for the tickets with had expired at the end of Feb and I got a new one which was obviously different.
Anyway, all sorted now and refund of taxes on it's way (we should have been going on Saturday but Rob is still in Germany)
I also found out that since there have been so many changes to this flight (they were emailing us every other week at one point to notify us of a change in flight times) if I had not agreed to the change in times they would have refunded me in full for a cancellation..but coz I agreed at the time..I was only entitled to the tax..now they tell me
I would still rather have gone to Malta diving though...
Air Malta to offer holiday flights from UK regions
Air Malta will resume charter flights from six UK regional airports this summer.
From 1 May, the airline will operate weekly charter flights from Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Newcastle and Norwich airports to Malta and Gozo.
The flights, which will be in addition to the airline's regular scheduled services from Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester, will operate until the end of October.
Air Malta chief commercial officer Philip Saunders said the charter flights had been made possible following the support from regional airports as well as from tour operators and other travel trade partners.
"These operations further confirm the airline's commitment to boosting incoming tourism to Malta from the UK, which is Malta's primary tourism market," he said. We expect to carry around 48,000 passengers on these services."
