We generally have morning flights since we had the boys and as we are flying from Gatwick a good 3 and a half hour drive away we normally stay overnight in an airport hotel, well it adds an extra night onto my holiday, so one less night to cook :cheers

We had an offer - just £60 for a room and parking - so cheap as chips :que

Depends really what time the flight and from which airport the plane departs. Many of my long haul flights leave late in the evening so the normal mid day hotel check out would result in hours of hanging around so it would be much better to take my time getting to the airport throughout the day. If I do take the rare early morning flight then I would stay overnight in a airport hotel.
I rarely choose to take short haul flights in the morning so with afternoon flights I can give myself time to drive to the airport, park my car and jump on the plane.

If we have a morning flight and not travelling from the airport that is literally ten minutes away ,then we book into an hotel.

We normally stay at a hotel, that way the holiday starts earlier :D

We have to rely on other people or public transport to get us to and from the airport so we always try and choose a local airport with good flight times and travel on the day , if we ever have to fly from another airport then i think i would rather stay the night before in a hotel but again depends on flight times

This has just reminded me I need to book my airport hotel in readiness for my Easter hol. Flying early morning from Bristol so will stay the night before and leave the car at the hotel for the week.

We fly from Bristol again in August but our flight isn't until 6pm, so checking in at 4pm. There would be no point in an airport hotel stay as we'd have to check out at 11am, leaving us with 5 hours twiddling our thumbs until check-in. That's too much even for us :rofl

We are lucky to live just 45 minutes form Gatwick so we don't need to stay at a hotel.

Lucky you!!!! we live 10 mins away from Doncaster Airport but can never get the flights we want and if they are offered they are so much more expensive to book, it's cheaper for us to drive to Manchester and pay for parking or Hotel and it still works out cheaper :que

We live close to Bristol airport but if we are flying from Gatwick we will stay overnight before - Holiday starts sooner :)

We usually fly from Luton, Birmingham or East Midlands which are all around 50 mins from home, so we travel to the airport on the same day,
However next month we will be flying on an early flight from Gatwick, so I have booked parking and a Travelodge. I have since read some reviews which are not very good regarding the Travelodge as it is undergoing a refurbishment but for £19 a night can't really complain.

Depends on flight time for us, if its really early then we often stay . We prefer to stay as it eases the stress of the day, and its an extra night hols.

Using Gatwick Hilton and Sofitel we have had some real bargains the last few times for hotel and parking.

If we are flying from Glasgow we always stay in a hotel the night before as the airport is a 4-4.5 hour drive away. The last couple of times we have booked a DB&B package with parking as the flights weren't at the usual 6 or 7am so we were able to take advantage of the breakfast.

We have also stayed in a hotel on the way back the last couple of trips as we have had flights which arrived late and the alternative would have been getting home at 3.30am.

Our next couple of trips are flying from Aberdeen which is a novelty and as it's only 45 mins drive away we won't need a hotel.

We always stay in a hotel the day before. We are realy lucky living in the central region as we are in easy reach of all the main airports so have a great choice, but we always stay in a hotel the day before as it helps me to relax and unwind from work so that when I get on that airplane I am relaxed and in holiday mode. If I miss out on my chilled night at a hotel I feel realy rushed and it takes me a good 2 days to distress! My hubby says I'm just greedy :rofl

We can travel from Durham Tees Valley, Newcastle or Leeds Bradford so don't really need hotel. When we went to Florida from Manchester we stayed overnight on the way out due to early morning flight but we could, drive there as it's only a couple of hours.

We live in Bristol but travel from Cardiff or Heathrow which is only 2 hours at the most so travel with good ol' national express on the day :)
