We came back from Icmeler yesterday and as part of our package, we were given A2B transfers, what a nightmare! They lined us all up on the tarmac in Dalaman in the heat until they had taken everyone's details. Finally, we were taken to the coach, big problem, too many passengers for the coach. There were about 12 of us left so they finally put us on another coach only to leave us sat on it for an hour and a half until it filled up! We eventually left the airport and did all the drop offs in Marmaris which took a further 2 and a half hours until we reached our apartments! We decided with 2 small children to book a return transfer with Icmeleronline £45.00 for all 4 and that was a private taxi with just us on it. I faxed A2B to cancel their transfer but they still turned up! Also, our flight home was 5.30am and A2B collection time was 23.10, Icmeleronline was 1.30am. I would rather sit in the hotel in comfort for the extra 2hours 20 mins than on a coach. Good luck Dougal.

Hi Jozzyd, Can you answer a couple of questions for me please.
Did you package include "Transfers" or did you book a private Taxi.

We do not have a "package.
We booked our flights through ULOOK UBOOK on Line.
We then booked our accommodation AVLU3 (we picked that) through ULOOK UBOOK. We then booked a private TAXI through ULOOK UBOOK and they booked us with A2B Taxi's at £116. I did find out later that I could have got that for less.
I phoned ULOOK UBOOK today and they are very good to deal with, baised in Newcastle and asked for further conformation of our booking of a "private Taxi" The lady assured me it was a Private Taxi but will put that in writing again. I know the nightmare you went through, we had that last year. Cheers

I used unitedblue/holiday taxis from dalaman to marmaris. Super service, very efficient, spoke excellent english. The transfers are on a mini bus of no more than 12 and they arrange the buses so all the drop offs are on the same strip. It took us under 2 hours from dalaman to be in our hotel :tup

Hi Dougal, we booked with Hays travel and asked for a transfer to be included in the package. My documents state shuttle bus not coach, the cost was £90.28 for all 4 of us. Hopefully, you will have more luck than us with your transfer. Best wishes.

Thanks for your quick reply. That was the problem we had last year. It took us four and a half hours including sitting waiting on a bus and stopping for an overpriced drink. Did you enjoy Icemeler Anything new? Did you do any trips. We are looking for something to do as we will be there for 14 days. I have most of the usual trips. Cheers

Dougal, it's only the 2nd time we have been to Icmeler, and we stayed in the Old Village last year right at the back of the resort. As the kids were only 2 and 5 we didn't venture too far into town. Seeing Icmeler town for the first time was an eye opener, my 6 year old daughter and 3 year old son loved the dancing waiters, break dancers etc. but you will probably have seen them already. We enjoyed it but must admit didn't want to see another belly dancer! We did a couple of boat trips which were good but again, you have probably done these before. Love the general feeling of the resort and it's friendliness so will be returning again. I have heard good reports for the 2 days Ephesus trip if you haven't done that one. Enjoy your holiday, we only came back yesterday and already looking at prices for 3 weeks for next year :)

Thanks for the info. Yes we have done all the trips. We stayed in Gumbet 2 years ago and did them all from there. I also know all the restaurants in Icemeler. Thanks again.
PS what was the Temp. there when you left.

Hi everyone,

Booked a transfer for 4 adults and 4 children with Hamish McTurk. They were on the ball and replied quickly. Only one thing bothering me. I asked for two child seats for the little ones (both 4) and boosters for the older kids. (7 and 8).
They are having trouble getting the boosters as they are not required by law in Turkey . Is that the case ?
I'm fine with the older children sitting on normal seats without boosters but I have two ums worrying as you can imagine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

I was also advised that they didn't need them at all as I had originally looked at hiring a car. Unsure if this is the standard with small children. But you can always ask that you are travelling in a vehicle that has seatbelts, ours with this company didnt!

We too used Hamish Mcturk for our transfers this year, and while our journey to resort was fine, our return journey wasnt. What was supposed to be a private transfer turned into a 2am jaunt, picking up a big family booking from another hotel, a change of drivers and a stop to refuel the mini bus. The driving left a LOT to be desired and while I have even been rally driving I have never felt as unsafe as what I did with my 7 year old son on our return to the airport. Make sure that your transfer is a private one of that is what you believe you are paying for . . .we did and we were so late getting to the aiport in the end that we were only 4 rows from the last of the flight being checked in!

Not only did I feel uncomfortable cos my son wasn't on his usual seat, there weren't seatbelts that worked in the minibus that we went on, but, I have to say, we will not use this company again!

Hi

I am going to Marmaris on Monday 15th September staying in the Armutalen area, I have heard that the transfer from the airport to the resort can be quite scary, with mountainest and winding roads, Is this true?
