Hello..a request for info....has anyone recently been to the above ..Ive seen mixed reports on trip advisor but there is nothing recent on this board..we have actually booked 7 days B and B in a seaview apartment in Oct but some of the reports are quite bad..
any views appreciated....thanks...Grud...............
sorry don't know it personal, but i have looked at the last half dozen recent reports on T|A and apart from one [who went the busiest week on Cyprus] they were pretty good reviews, I believe this now comes under the new system whereby the hotel doesn't have a full time rep but you will be given a number of the resort office if you need them, [had this in a couple of hotels recently]
You are a fair way from Paphos cross roads, Big Mammas(possibly over rated as you have to queue to get in on some nights. (Ask a taxi driver to take you to Argo Taverna and try the Kleftiko).
Staff were friendly, rooms clean, bedding and towels changed daily, grounds kept immaculate. Food - Cypriot, so don't expect bacon and eggs.
Enjoy.
I will ignore the negative comments.I guess you cant pls everone all the time...thanks again Grud
The tower is down by St George just to give you an idea of the beach area.
As you can see, it was VERY quiet, but that was in the first week. The second week it was full - of Cypriots - as it was a National Holiday.
If it's good enough for them....

We go on 3rd October to Laura Beach which is just past St George's - It will be our third time. Yes it is a little bit out - have wandered around there - but has not been a problem for us. There is a good bus service into Paphos itself. We have found it a good jumping off point when we hire a car.
I think you will be fine at the Akteon. We stayed there at the end of last year. The food was good. Most of the staff were ok. If you made the effort they were fine back. We changed rooms when we arrived as the sea view was mostly obscured by a large tree. We were put in to a superior room (which wasn't much different from the 1st one!) but had the sea view. The rooms were ok although the cleaners didn't seem to clean or empty bins every day? Basic entertainment; bingo; kareoke; Greek dancing.... atleast they make the effort to provide some entertainment. Quite a lot of German people were staying whilst we were there. We went all-inclusive which I was happy with. A few broken sun-loungers here and there. The pool wasn't heated so I think in October it might be a bit too cold to swim in. I would grade this hotel as a good 3 star so as long as you aren't expecting the Ritz, you should be happy. I would consider staying there again if the price was right and I'm quite fussy. And, finally, hopefully you will get some nice weather in October.
