Thinking of going there this year. Been looking at hotels ERDEM and GOKOVA.
Anyone been there? any imfo would be helpful.
yes i go to akyaka every year, absolutely love the place, fab beach so scenic, good prices in restaurants as a turkish resort, but as i have my own apt i dont stay in hotels but the gokova hotel is near my apt and i have eaten there and used their pool a few times, the hotel is about 15 mins walk to the beach as its near the top of akyaka, but nothing really around it, the pool is tiny. we prefer the idyma hotel, ive put a link to that for you, pool is bigger, rooms lovely, staff friendly. i dont know the erdem so cant help you with that.
im happy to help with any questions and if you have a look in the photo gallery you will see ive put some photos in there of akyaka.
have a look at these links too

if you want to be near the beach, then theres the club magician hotel and kordon hotel and apts
any more help let me know

I've stayed at the Erdem.
The location is excellent, just yards from the beach and the main street of Akyaka. However the facilities, service and organisation are somewhat less so! Looking at the Thomas Cook website I was amazed to see that it would cost over £600 each for us to stay there this year
What do you want to know?
INVALID URL about 5-10 mins from the beach Lovley place with a great pool.
Cant comment on the hotels/apartments mentioned as I havnt stayed there. Have used the Sezgin apartments which are just round the corner from the erdem (booked through Mepar tours) and also the okaliptus apartments (booked direct The thing that shocked me, was the prices for the package holidays to Akyaka compaired to other places in Turkey.£700pp+ is just not on.
The Gokova Hotel looks a possibility at £550pp b&b,but I cant find a site were anyone has stayed there,
Looks like we will cross our fingers and hope for the best.
Thank again.
just a warning, we didnt like the food at the gokova hotel and the owners are a bit serious, not the usual friendly banter you get from everyone else in this resort
my friends also stayed at the okaliptus apts and really loved it
Thanks for that advice Elle, we have never done a diy before, and to be honest Im a bit long in the tooth to start now.Dont know what to do now.
if you want any help let us know your dates and local airport as im sure we can point you in the right direction, and help get you some flight prices to compare
akyaka is lovely,so i highly recommend it, its only 50 mins from the airport too

Over the last few years (before we bought our house in Turkey) we have saved pounds by doing DIY holidays. I can understand you being a bit apprehensive about doing DIY but be assured that there's lots of us do it and have never looked back. Hope you get what you want.

I agree doing a DIY holiday really isn't hard, if you know the accomodation you like you can either book direct or go to one of the many accmodation sites. There are lots of people here who can advise you
Im looking at the Yucelen Hotel. £600pp for 2wks b&b.
More than I wanted to pay,but Akyaka realy appeals.
The wrightups on Tripadvisor look positive.
thomas cook and anatolian sky both do packages to akyaka, what month are you going, we will be there in july. last yr we chatted to someone that had booked their package out of the times, might be worth a look
aegean flights fly from cardiff i think, sometimes their flights are cheap, other times dearer depending when you fly
Hope to find the real Turkey again, the wife speaks quite a bit of turkish as we holidayed in Altinkum for over 15yrs.
We thought we had found paridise there, but with more and more British influance the place became Blackpool in the sun.
Thanks again for all you help, Id be lost without this site.
if you are booking through tc online then make sure you go through 1 of the free cashback sites, i use either quidco or topcashback and you will get some cashback , its amazing how it adds up

this seems fairly reasonable although ive no idea where this hotel is in akyaka
Last year we stayed for one night at the Ottman Residence http://www.ottomanresidence.com/ - we booked directly with the hotel by emailing from the website. It cost us the equivalent of £44 for a double room - which although not that cheap for Turkey compares very favourably when compared to a Travelodge here! Its probably comparatively cheaper for a whole week.
It really is a beautiful hotel, the main area opens out on to the pool and gardens, which back on to the river. The gardens have big cushions where you can lay around reading your book! It is an easy 10 minute stroll by the river to the beach.
We ate in the hotel, they had a buffet, with grilled meat, lots of mezes, salads, vegs etc.,which was really lovely and if I remember rightly cost 25 lira each!
Would really recommend the hotel for a relazing holiday!
Booking the Yucelen now. Topcashback, never hered of them, so thank you for that, learn something every day. Theres a drink in it for you if we ever meet up in Akyaka.
i use topcashback or quidco for everything i buy, even ebay lol, all my car, hubbys bike and van insurances, shops like debenhams, all hols, flights , ive got hundreds of £'s off them , you just need to remember to go through the site everytime you want to buy anything via the internet, some car insurance can be £100 cashback
the place sounds lovely anyway and i am really looking forward to going. early june. went to Dalyan last year, first time to Turkey and loved it.
The pool area was nice, but as with many tourist complexes the sunbeds all had towels on them very early in the morning.
