John, nearest places to the Viva Tropic for eating all seem to be in a state of flux - most seem to be up for sale. Would have suggested Brunel for breakfasts but that's on the market. Don't know what's going on. But not to worry, a bit further away on the main road are plenty of places, e.g. Steak House Carabela or Pago Pago (which also does entertainment, though it might still be too early when you are in Alcudia). Most places are just fine for families. Depends what you want, but there are also pizza, burger and tex-mex and the like close by as well as more authentic food. Sa Bota and Nova Marina on the promenade are both popular and do a range of dishes for everyone. The promenade and the marina are about five to ten minutes walk from the Viva.
Sounds as though you might be too early for the waterpark (Hidropark) as well. That normally opens start of May. You might want to take a look at the old town of Alcudia, market days are Tuesday and Sunday. The town is quite different to Puerto Alcudia.
