Everyone seems to be missing my point. As I said in my last post I have some experience with american airports. Compared with Heathrow they are mostly all far better. My point with AA is their use of a hub (Chicago Terminal 5) which was not only inefficient but stupid enough to use 3 Immigration Officers for 200+ passengers on one side and 7 Immigration Officers for 100 + passengers on the other side. Even though it was an american airline there were still far more non - american passengers than american and The Immigration Dept. was far too inflexible in it's handling of ,what I consider to have been, a simple problem. American Airlines could have been more sympathetic to my problem, (which in part at least was their fault, ) and certainly could have replied much quicker.

If you wanted advice on how to further your request for reimbursement, your post certainly didn't ask that, to me you were upset about your experience and wanted to have a little rant about it. Fair enough
If you are wanting some positive feedback then I'll agree with you and say yes it was stupid of the administration of O'hare Airport to only schedule 3 immigration officers for 200+passengers. Your post has certainly made us all aware of the delays that may be encountered if entering the USA at Chicago
