I don't think anyone was missing your point, you told us that there weren't enough staff on duty to deal with the amount of passengers, because of this you weren't able to use the lounge. I 'm sure we are all sympathetic but you didn't ask for advice just posted what had happened, so as often happens this led to a discussion from posters discussed their experiences on AA planes and US Airports.
If you wanted advice on how to further your request for reimbursement, your post certainly didn't ask that, to me you were upset about your experience and wanted to have a little rant about it. Fair enough
If you are wanting some positive feedback then I'll agree with you and say yes it was stupid of the administration of O'hare Airport to only schedule 3 immigration officers for 200+passengers. Your post has certainly made us all aware of the delays that may be encountered if entering the USA at Chicago
