Hi All,
Hopefully this is in the best section within the forum. Apologies in advance if not !
As per the above, I'd be really grateful if anyone who managed a good last minute deal for last year to offer some feedback. I'm failry certain that true last minute deals still exsist, but it would appear that there is still a lot of sway to booking early in order to get he best deals.
We have talked ourselves into doing some more work on the home this year and as a result, we will not quite manage to book up for the summer. However, I'm determined to try my hand at a last minute when the time comes as we will not quite have the budget we usually do and this looks like the only way we manage a break.
Did anyone manage a last minute bargain last year and if so, would you mind letting me know where you booked/sourced.
I'd be keen to hear on prices paid too, but appreciate a bargain is relative to what you would typically pay and is hard to measure in terms of people's differing budgets. That said, any prices would be real good indicator.
Really keen to hear if others managed thier own bargain break last year.....
Thanks in advance,
D
I don't go on holiday peak time due to two factors, main one work, and the second one cost. I went to Ireland in October and the weather was a surprise, we had some fluke HEATWAVE, yes, really, an heatwave in October in Ireland. I paid just under £500 for a weeks stay, cottage, travel ete incuded,
i always go away in august as we have a girl aged 13. i've had some fair (in my opinion)prices but never cheap. i also try to get away in october and i have had some rock bottom prices for last minute deals.
not what you want to hear sorry
regards tracey
Because we would be going to our daughters around 17th December I decided to look for any holiday returning to Gatwick on that date.
I looked on Thomson and Thomas Cooks website and found this holiday for £355 each for 2 weeks AI.
All the other hotels here,Sharm and El Gouna were nearly twice the price so I looked at the reviews on TA and the recent ones were very good.
I didnt expect the agent in Thomas Cooks travel shop to match the price but she did.
It was one of the best hotels I have stayed in as it had a water park, bowling alley,11 restaurants etc and Thomas Cook customers had the use of the sister hotel and all the facilities I looked to see how much it would be to return this year at the same time and at the moment it is over £700 each. It was our 4th holiday in 2010 so the price was definitely a bonus.
We booked, we travelled and returned home again - safely.
How's that for success?
