Hi,
My sister and I (32 & 23) want to go away to Thailand for Christmas & New Year for around 2 and half weeks.
I know this is a busy time, and not as cheap as it could be but we really want to get away as we don't particularly enjoy Christmas at home (same old thing), have no ties and we think Thailand can offer us that.
Could anyone tell us what is good to do at this time of year, where would be good to spend xmas and then New Year, any tips on not getting ripped off with hiked up prices.
We want to go to places where there are going to be loads of like minded people in their twenties and thirties who want to have a great time as well as see sights etc.
I am thinking maybe spend a few days in Bangkok then onto a couple of different places for Christmas and new year.
Any help and info would be much appreciated as we have not visited Asia before.
Thanks,
Nic
You're definitely looking a top destination, but being realistic, you will now struggle to get flights for under £750 per person.
I know what mean about Xmas & the family, we're going to the Algarve as flights and accommodation are as cheap as chips.
If you can afford the money, then definitely go, and you will get flights, somehow, we'll all provide lots of pointers. However, what I will say, as it's so late in the day, you would probably spend about twice what you would if you went a few weeks later. Maybe you could save the money and have twice as a luxurious holiday in Jan / Feb for the same price?
We've already got flights booked so thats ok, and they were dear but worth it.
I now need info on what to do etc if you can help.
Thanks
Nic
Phuket would be good at that time. A friend of mine(much younger than me ) went over Christmas and loved it. I will actually be in Bangkok for New Years Eve and have yet to investigate how we will spend it
Also what is the easiest and cheapest way and time needed to get to Phuket ?
I do not know anything yet and it is a bit daunting !
Thanks
Nic
