We stayed one night in Negombo at the end of a two week tour of Sri Lanka, from the short time we had there we liked it, lovely beach, nice town and some lovely restaurants. We ate at a place called Lords the night we were there and the food was very good. There are lots of sellers on the beach which can be a hassle but you must be use to that from Goa! It is very near the airport so short transfer. Lots of lovely places in Sri Lanka do try and get out and see some of them even though most places of interest are quite a drive away.
