yes bellaoz i know exactly what you mean - we live on the outskirts of london - but do we ever go there - no - except if hubby is working in the city - weve taken the odd drive through and taken the children to the tower of london and the imperial war museum - how bad is that . oh and think theyve been on HMS belfast .

I know this post was posted a while ago but I only saw it now when I was looking for another old post so I thought I'd send a reply myself!!
I lived in Winchester for 3 years while I was at university. It is a lovely town, ideal for a weekend break with lots to do & see. I have not had much experience with the hotels as I lived there but once my parents came for the weekend and stayed at the Florum House Hotel, which was a very lovely, clean and comfortable b&b, so I would recommend that to anyone looking for a nice place to stay. As for the pubs of Winchester, well I can say that I have probably experienced most of them... after all I was a student there I would love to help out as much as I can if anyone else is considering going to Winchester.
