Hi - havent been yet - will be going in August - however my brother works out there in the summer and has been there since April, he said everything is really the same however it has been a terrible season so far weatehr wise. only last week have they had a week of good weather. He said the other noticeable difference is the prices, yep, a lot of resturants have put the prices up and one of the owners said to him lots of people are taking a trip to the supermarket to cook for themselves while away, so it looks like it is hitting everyone hard. Nothing is really cheap abroad now.

I stayed at the Siesta 1 for the first two weeks of the season, April 5th - April 19th.

The weather then was variable, but more sunny than not.

The exchange rate was woeful, down to 1.21 at times; making the holiday much more expensive.

The supermarkets around Siesta 1 are not that cheap at all, tell me again how much they are charging for butter (6 Euros!!).
A top tip would be to visit the Marcando, stock up, and get a taxi back. It's in the middle of Old town Alculdia.

Eating out is definately expensive, but there are bargains to be had.Near the humped bridge in the strip there is a Chinese who do a lunchtime bufet including a drink for just under 9E. We were under 27E for two adults and 2 kids.

Climbing the mountain behind Siesta 1 is so much fun, much easier than you'd think. There is also a path to the mountain with the Radio transmitters, that starts just beside the GoKarts in Bellvue.

The Red Lion at the Siesta 1 hotel does a great 13 course for 7.85E.

Thanks jwramsay,
The euro is still not good but the only other thing we were looking at is having a holiday in the UK but when you look at how much it cost and you cannot take the chance with the weather at least you can sit on the beach with the kids for the day.

Hi Zonecrew,
Don't know where you are staying, but if you know where the strip is in Alcudia (Avinguda de Pere Mas y Rues) there are several signposts directing you to Cheers, it's only a minute or so's walk from the strip. Peach pit is next to Cheers. I am pretty sure the street Cheers is in is called Avinguda de Italia if this helps....
Enjoy your holiday! :cheers
