Sorry if I got 'ratty' with a couple of regulars on here tonight - not been the best of news this weekend. Now having to re-plot where to stay and which shack to venture to.

No offence taken Spike and there was no need for your apology on my behalf, I thought your reply that was deleted quite witty and probably not in any way malicious as it might have seemed to a third party !
The point I was trying to put across was that the River Princess saga has been on going for years. Even the HT thread was started 6 years ago and all that time there have been demands for action. At last something is happening so it's a positive move. Yes, without a doubt, if action had taken place earlier it would have been an easier job to clear up but it wasn't so the problem is as it is now not then.
I would have presumed that in the interests of all concerned the most viable way of solving the problem now has been chosen. The ship is lying in extremely shallow water . Until we see what happens we can't prejudge the outcome properly but unfortunately it's likely that not just a few shack holders will suffer but the whole area. I couldn't begin to guess how many lorry loads of scrap are going to be using the local roads but it must run into 'ooo's. However, if the problem isn't solved the long term cost in erosion will be equally devastating, lots of shacks have already suffered as a result.
Now, as for the other reason I have contradicted your opinion and seem to have upset you I am still hopelessly guessing. This is a discussion forum though,we all have our own opinions and preferences and the overall objective is to give a balanced view through lots of reports.How readers interpret contributions is up to them but it's always my intention is to try and be helpful so people can get the best out of their hard earned holiday, as I'm sure yours is too. I do try and add "IMO"( in my opinion) when giving an appraisal of anywhere or any place and try to look at it with an open mind and give reasons as to why it's not my cup of tea.
I'm a great fan of forums such as this as you can greatly enhance your holiday with a bit of research before you go. I just wish that more people would add their thoughts, particularly those who have asked questions before hand but don't come back to report.
