We thought the food was great, Lots of food on offer, you do tend to get five or six of the same dishes every day with two or three 'specials'.

As I say the food is very nice although it does get a little repetative after a week or so.

Throughout the day there are various places where you can get food such as pizza/hot dogs/burgers and salads etc etc

Planet Yukka is a restaurant in the Kusadasi town centre which offers a wide range of food (Italian/Chinese/Indian/Mexican and of course Turkish) Food is great and the prices are very good plus they send a car/van to pick you up from the hotel and also take you back free of charge.

Thanks Monks :D

Can you let me know what type of dishes were on offer for dinner please?

I realise i am going off topic at mo but was wondering what the beach is like and what water sports are available and do they cost extra???

My hubby is asking what size are the glasses the beer is served in pints or halfs???

pamplemousse - The dishes were quite varied, chicken, turkey, beef, veal all in different sauces. Specials were usually fish/pasta or a special chicken or beef dish.

As well as that you had soups, various breads, plenty of salad choices, chips, potatoes and lots of dessert options.

Breakfast was very good as well, with omelettes, cereals, eggs, sausages, fruit, yoghurts, and various other food.

spuddlerdigs - The beach is ok, nothing special, in fact it was probably the only thing that let the place down. Its a nice small private beach however we found it a little dirty. The water sports which are free were the pedalos, you had to pay for the banana boat, jet skis and para sailing. IIRC those were between 30 - 75 lira for 15 minute periods.

The beer was a local lager called Effs which was very nice, served in glasses which were probably equal to half pints.

Thank you monks :D

I lovw sauces so i'll be ok, do you think kids are catered for ok, they're not really fussy.

The kids ate the same food there was not really a kids menu. During the day there are burgers/hot dogs/pizza etc readily availble for them so theres not chance of them going hungry.

As for things for the kids to do there are plenty with the pools and waterpark and more importantly the Kids Club is great :D

Hi,

Yes there is an on site doctor, located in main building of the World Hotel beside the First Choice Kids Club.

Not to sure what is in the Junior Suite, however if you check the hotels web site then that should give you a description and also a few photos. I would imagine it will have one double bed and two singles and maybe a sofa bed as well.

In Kusadasi there are plenty shops which sell cheap (fake) watches/leather/clothes/DVD's etc etc, depends on what you want.

Thanks Moncs.

Can you get Nintendo DS Games out there cheap????

I have heard that the sea is not so nice do you think its swimmable and safe or is it so dirty you wouldn't chance it with the kiddies.

Thanks

Just got back, will post a hotel review when i get 5, 2 adults 2 children, 13 & 11. in short very nice holiday. Place was clean well run and even though their was not an empty room in the place it did not feel that busy. A couple of quick points, towels are free, you place a deposit for them on your splash card (8YTL) then simply change them when ever you want clean ones, when you dont want anymore they give you a towel card that will give you your deposit back when you pay your bill. Food was nice always a choice on offer at all meal times. Excursions- I personally would book on your own not with FC boat trip only cost £8 (20YTL) with was all day 3 stops in nice bays lunch (very nice) and all soft drinks was all inc. If their are any questions please feel free.

Hi Niax, yes DS games are their but not as many as the gameboy adnvance ones (which work in a DS) on market day they worked out around £3 ea. DS ones around £10. bit more in town around £6 & £14. tip take the DS with you to test before you buy most stall holders have one but there can be a que, make sure to test the save game part as with copies this is the common part not to work.

Nia, not wanting to sound offish re aquafantasy but it could be anywhere in the world, Turkey is a lovely country but going to aquafantasy you will not see that much of it (only a bit when if you go on an excursion) Kusadasi is the main town close to aqua and this is a big town, very nice but it is an international Port. If you have kids then they will be very happy with their holiday, I would say below 14 would be the best age. Aquapark was a good thing but without it the Holiday would have taken a nose dive, this is an international hotel, in our first week very much Deutch orientated, second not so much as more and more English were arriving and with next year trf from Izmir only 45mins i think a lot more brits will go, (good thing or bad i will let you decide but i now know longer consider British holiday makers the rudest nationality) Aquafantasy has everything on site from bowling, pool tables, free canoe/pedaloes (motorised was 20YTL ea) to the aquapark and beach although can contain a bit much seaweed. It has a very good mix to make it a good holiday.

Hi folks!
I'm new to this forum after migrating across from the Pegasos Palace thread :D Been to Pegasos twice now, both last year and this year and have just booked to go to Aquafantasy in August 08 for a week with hubbie and kids who will be 14 (boy), 10 (girl) and 8 (girl). Being a family of 5 makes it quite expensive to go AI if the rooms don't cater for 5 so Aquafantasy was appealing for this reason as well as the waterpark for the kids. Managed to book the last remaining 5bed family room and we're flying into Izmir so thankfully we'll have the shorter transfer time as the flight times are shocking!

Just a few questions to start with!
1) Do men have to wear long trousers for dinner or are 3/4 length trousers/just on-the-knee smart shorts acceptable?

2) Where are the pool towels obtained from that you can "hire" using the deposit on the splash card? Are there certain opening times for the towel place?

3) How much were the reps charging for a trip to the local Turkish Bath? Is it cheaper to get the dolmus and DIY?

4) Planet Yukka sounds like a good idea for a night out. How do you arrange the free pickup and drip back to the hotel?

5) I've heard the on-site A la Carte restaurants are not AI. Can anyone tell me how much they are and whether you have to pay for drinks while you dine there?

6) Did anyone book a late check out room direct with the hotel once you got there? If so, how much did it cost and what time did this let you have the room til?

Also some info for Nia - if you go to the aquafantasy website (INVALID URL and click on the UK flag where it says "hotel" it takes you to the hotel website. From the home page click on "aquafantasy hotel" (top left) and a drop-down list apears where you can click "rooms". From here you can see what each of the rooms looks like and even get a floor plan 8) As for what you can buy in Turkey that is cheap - fake designer clothes, bags, watches...the list goes on. The markets are the best for bargains usually, and bargain hard even if the start price they offer you seems cheap - they expect you to haggle - it's all good fun  Some people find the shop-keepers and market traders are quite pushy, they can be "keen" to get you to buy but if you are not interested say so politely but firmly and they get the message. Have heard stories from other people about being almost forced to pay for things like jewellry after you've been grabbed and it's been fastened on to you before you realise but did not experience this myself. I just made sure I told my kids to not touch anything when out shopping and to make sure either me or my husband was with them if they wanted to pick something up to look at it before buying. We never had any problems at all.

Look forward to reading about the hotel over the next 12 months :D

Going on the 21st August for just a week (couldn't afford £3400 for fortnight  ). Decided we'd be better off having a "hot" week and having a long weekend camping in the UK with kids and if £££'s allow having a week just me and hubby abroad as a last minute deal. My son is starting his GCSE's this September so can't afford to take him out of school anymore which has always brought the price down in the past :(
