Hi folks!
I'm new to this forum after migrating across from the Pegasos Palace thread

Been to Pegasos twice now, both last year and this year and have just booked to go to Aquafantasy in August 08 for a week with hubbie and kids who will be 14 (boy), 10 (girl) and 8 (girl). Being a family of 5 makes it quite expensive to go AI if the rooms don't cater for 5 so Aquafantasy was appealing for this reason as well as the waterpark for the kids. Managed to book the last remaining 5bed family room and we're flying into Izmir so thankfully we'll have the shorter transfer time as the flight times are shocking!
Just a few questions to start with!
1) Do men have to wear long trousers for dinner or are 3/4 length trousers/just on-the-knee smart shorts acceptable?
2) Where are the pool towels obtained from that you can "hire" using the deposit on the splash card? Are there certain opening times for the towel place?
3) How much were the reps charging for a trip to the local Turkish Bath? Is it cheaper to get the dolmus and DIY?
4) Planet Yukka sounds like a good idea for a night out. How do you arrange the free pickup and drip back to the hotel?
5) I've heard the on-site A la Carte restaurants are not AI. Can anyone tell me how much they are and whether you have to pay for drinks while you dine there?
6) Did anyone book a late check out room direct with the hotel once you got there? If so, how much did it cost and what time did this let you have the room til?
Also some info for Nia - if you go to the aquafantasy website (
INVALID URL and click on the UK flag where it says "hotel" it takes you to the hotel website. From the home page click on "aquafantasy hotel" (top left) and a drop-down list apears where you can click "rooms". From here you can see what each of the rooms looks like and even get a floor plan

As for what you can buy in Turkey that is cheap - fake designer clothes, bags, watches...the list goes on. The markets are the best for bargains usually, and bargain hard even if the start price they offer you seems cheap - they expect you to haggle - it's all good fun

Some people find the shop-keepers and market traders are quite pushy, they can be "keen" to get you to buy but if you are not interested say so politely but firmly and they get the message. Have heard stories from other people about being almost forced to pay for things like jewellry after you've been grabbed and it's been fastened on to you before you realise but did not experience this myself. I just made sure I told my kids to not touch anything when out shopping and to make sure either me or my husband was with them if they wanted to pick something up to look at it before buying. We never had any problems at all.
Look forward to reading about the hotel over the next 12 months
