Carl - thanks so much for replying in such detail. It's people like yu that make it so much easier for those of us travelling in the future. I'm sure I'll think of some more things to ask as time goes on

Next question already

Did there seem to be any problem with ear infections? At Pegasos this year it was RIFE and out of the 5 kids in our party 4 ended up with it to some degree

Nothing major, we had the same problem with pegasos last year. Think I knew of two or three cases at aqua in the two weeks, definatley not the epidemic we saw at pegasos

Hi

Does anyone have any idea of how much money we should take with us. We are going for a fortnight in June and not planning on doing any excursions as my youngest is 3 and she would be moaning and whingeing!!!

We do plan to go to Kusadasi town but that's about it.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Nia

Hi nia we're going in June too :D

Can someone give me some idea of what room to request please, either world or club side. We like to overlook the pool or sea if possible and like it quite quiet as we normally retire just before 11 ish as the kids get too tired any later.

Nia, it all depends on what you will buy then, bus into town is £1 each or taxi is £8. ice creams canyflosses etc are all around the £1.50 - £2 mark at the hotel. You can pick up some good bargains at the market in town but my advice is dont change too much money before you go as it is a better exchange rate when you are out their and if you take sterling then their is nothing to lose if you bring it back with you, also if you take your credit card so if you do have a spending spree just use a cash point.

Pample, most of the rooms are away from the night time entertainment so they all should be fine. Their are only a few rooms that have a sea view and most of these are suits. you would have a better chance of a pool view being on the world side though. my son brought back a plan of the hotel so i will try copy it and upload it for you to have a look.

I have boys who will be 11 and 8 and boy/girl twins who will be just 6.

We went to Lykia World this year and that was fabulous. I'm not expecting the same standards here but was attracted by the waterpark as the kids loved the slides at lykia.

dear all
i am flying to aqua fantasy on monday and i have read about a big price difference on the boat trip is it cheaper to wander to the harbour if so what is it called so i don't end up on the wrong trip or is it better to stay with the reps ?
can anyone tell me if there are windsurfs on the beach and if so are they free? plus are there any jet ski's and again how much are they ?
any other handy hints would be great

thanks dammo

Pigeon Island is the place for the boat trips, most priced at 20 YTL ea, all incl. except beer and ice cream, just go down on a night time and pick the boat you like the look of, we went on big baba and this was fine. yes wind surfing is in the all incl. jet ski i think was £30 a session not to sure about that though it may have been 30 euro. As for other tips market is a good morning on a wednesday or friday its just up from where the dolmuss drops you off, everywhere excepts YTL, £ or Euro's. Pigeon Island is right at the bottom of town past the proper port, is you look on google earth or MSN live earth you can see this on there and also aqua fantasy but only half built, it's just north of Kusadasi follow the coast round and it's the second water park you come to. Have a nice time.

ooh yes, something to look forward to isn't it. It's always sad when the posts get few and far between over the winter.

Hi all!

It's still very quiet on this thread so I thought I'd get 2008 rolling!!

We're off to Aqua Fantasy for a week in August, me, hubby and 3 kids, 14.5, 10 and 8. Kids have no idea where we are going and am hoping to keep it that way until we pull up and they see the huge waterpark!! Have been to HV Turkey for the past 2 years so am looking forward to a change. Absolutely LOVE Turkey, just a shame we couldn't afford 2 weeks at AF (I think it was about £4k!). I think it's best to take Euros to this hotel? Perhaps someone can confirm...? And also are mozzies a particular problem here? HV Turkey was bad but we went well prepared so didn't have a problem. Just need to know if I need to start stocking up when Boots have 3for2's on!!

Hi Lynda,

We're off to AF for 2 weeks in August. I don't want to upset you but we're paying £2,450 for 2 adults + 2 kids (8 and 9). Mind you, we did book last August and got a free kid place. We've no idea what to expect from Turkey (apart from heat!) as we've been to Spain for the last 5 years. I'll be following this thread for any advice, and I'll be interested to see what people have to say about the work to enlarge the water park that's been mentioned on here.

160-odd sleeps to go, but who's counting!

Hi Harry,
the problem for us is that we are a family of 5 and that makes booking holidays a nightmare! AF has only a limited number of rooms that sleep 5 and even though we booked over a year in advance there were no family5 rooms left for a fortnight so it would have meant booking 2 rooms and paying for 4 of us as adults plus under-occupancy supplements, hence £4k. As it was by booking for a week we got the only family5 room left (for the whole of August!) and paid for 3 adults (my 14yr old is classed as an adult :( ) and one child, plus a free child place. Any holiday is ££££'s when you are more than 2A+2C !

I know that the water park/hotel was being extended but I'm sure this was completed before last season. TBH Turkey has regulations that prohibit building work happening in the main summer season so even if there is evidence of a building site there will be no work/noise disturbance to bother us.

We will be there from 21st til 29th August. Can't wait! :sun2
