If you leave it blank you are prompted to fill it in and it won't let you proceed until you do. If you put N/A it rejects it, NA is accepted ! ( I must admit, I worked this out by trial and error, but only stuck at it because if you read the instructions it tells you you don't need ref's or sponsors if you are applying for a tourist VISA)
When you print off the application form at the end this part isn't included anyway.
It's all a bit mad but if you do this, send them off to the appropriate place etc etc it's all quite efficient and speedy.
Much less hassle than going in person IMO.
Don't let it get to you !!!!
Hi everyone, does anybody Know if theres a way to print off the on line application forms without entering your details. The reason I ask is that friends of ours are doing theirs this week, and we were going to go through it with them over the phone (they live in Yorkshire) We have already sorted ours on line, I know you can still download the old visa form but not to sure about the new one...many thanks Keith
Couldn't you just fill in the form for them then print it off ?
Thank you david I will keep that in mind xxxx

Visas and passports arrived today,so lets give credit were credit is due as I think VFS have been better than we all thought. Thanks Smudger for forwarding a copy of the on line form as we were able to go through it with our friends (from Yorkshire) anyway now its the small matter of waiting 104 days (but who's counting) before we to Goa for 3 wks of and good luck to all those who are waiting for their visa..... Keith

I think you are right Keith, things have improved from the early days. So whats going to happen next year, if they see its working they are sure to change it.
to VFS.
Sent son, daughter and partners visas away 21st October. Sons and daughters returned to our address with 'son in laws' going to his. Turn around 14 days. Unfortunately theres still no sign of my 'daughter in laws'. No records found when i track it through VFS. HELP !
My friend went thru to Edinburgh today to collect our visas at the visa centre (they had been lying there ready for over week, but we had no time to go and collect them). I was asking her if she waited long and she said there was no queue at all, she was in only person in the whole place
Yes that was my experience too, last year at this time it was pandimonium at the HCIs visa office. The new system seems to be much better, but I suspect the numbers applying for visa is way, way, down this year, thats being reflected in the dropping of loads of charter flights. Alan
