We were given all inclusive at the Atlantica, and I would say with the price of the drinks it is a must. It is just annoying that when you are AI you still have to wear the dreaded wrist bands, when you go to the bar you still have to order and then sign for your drinks before you can collect them. Otherwise food and drink is good there.
Just wondered if you noticed the price to upgrade fron half board to all inclusive
No I did'nt as we had booked AI before we went. I am sure a quick phone call to the hotel (Tel +302 241096100) and they would soon tell you what it would cost to do it there. The reception staff are very helpfull and speak very good English.
To give you an idea, I nicked one of the wine lists so I could get the cocktail ingredients.
Prices are in Euros
Beer 2.50
House wine (bottle) 8.50 (glass) 2.40
Coke, lemonade etc 1.80
Large bottled water 2.10
Most cocktails 3.85
Spirits 2.40
Tea 1.90
Coffee 2.10
These would otherwise all be free in unlimited quantities, so a few sums should work out what you drink in a day. I certainly think AI is good particularly if you have children. You are not money watching the whole time.

Looking in the book its about £100 per person extra over half board. I know I got my moneys worth!
hi miroku i have booked this hotel for august 07 what is the sunbed situ is it early morning dash,and can you get bottles of wine from bar on all inclusive. thanks
Sun-bed situation - there did seem to be several people who put their towels down early, but the week we were there, the pool man hosed the entire area around the pool down, including the sunbeds regardless of whether they had got towels on or not. He seemed to do this about 8 a.m. so if you want a particular spot you can usually get it as soon as he has finished.
Wine by the bottle is available all day. These are slightly smaller half litre bottles,but you can have as many as you want. During the day they only give you plastic cups around the pool area so take a couple of cheap wine glasses.

when we were there last august we upgraded to all inclusive on arrival, it was 330 euros for two adults, the kids went free,well worth upgrading

hi, sorry about that it was £330 not euro's, it worked out at 17 euros per person per day, thats 476 euro's for the 14 days, kids were free, but still well worth it

Cant help you there as most of the children were of an age where they would not go up and get drinks for themselves anyway. I would think that if they were teenagers, and had the wrist band they could still sign everything up to their room. They certainly did not worry whether I signed, or the wife as long as they had got a mark on a piece of paper
This discussion is interesting - we upgraded to all inclusive on booking with Eclipse. It was£210 per adult and £56 per child! Have we been conned? Anyone else done the same?
hi andreah1 no dont think you have ,its just this hotel you have a wrist band but you still have to sign for drinks etc , i just wondered if the kids had to do same. my kids are 11 and eight and the last two all inclusives we have done they got pop and ice creams themselves when they wanted.
Thanks for your reply. I'm new to this and was referring to the price of upgrading at the hotel as per jeppo9, a few messages above yours. Interesting the prices of upgrading to AI are different!

well by my reckoning you have been stung, as i said we upgraded on arrival, everyone including the kids have a wrist band, you go to the bar order what ever you want, they ask your room number and you sign, then continue on to get your order, there were plenty of kids in the queue getting what ever they wanted, ice creams, drinks, snacks etc.
plus you get lunch as well, which is very good, and at 4-30 there's tea , coffee, cakes etc

Thanks jeppo9. Has anyone else upgraded to all inclusive on booking? Perhaps I can cancel it with Eclipse and upgrade on arrival at hotel and save some pounds! Didn't realise it might be an option (and cheaper!) to do it at hotel rather than at the time of booking! What a price difference!!We've done a few all inclusives and there has never been the option of upgrading at the hotel - we had to book it through the travel company in the UK. 
Weve just transferred our holiday from the kos aqua beach club (we were cancelld this may and had rebooked for next year but have transferred as it looks like it still may not be ready, anyway thats another story and a very long one at that!!). there are 11 of us in our party travelling next may and we have all paid the extra to upgrade to all inclusive, we paid £196 per adult and £70 per child, this is for 2 weeks.
