I am thinking of going this November/December. Do the ATMs have the ability to display in English? I have a Nationwide card so its free of charge and worked a dream for me in Goa last year.

From what I remember they had english displays- certainly in Bangkok they did anyway and Chiang Mai
All Thai ATMs will either automatically detect your card is foreign and use English as the default language or will be bilingual display or will have an option to select English language (usually in the bottom right of the screen) after you have entered your PIN number.
Dont worry about using them. But many wont give more than 20000 baht at a time. But can make multiple withdrawals upto the limit set by your UK bank.
