If you're off to Goa in the near future, it's worth trying out their Ayuverdic medicines and cosmetics. They sell them in all the little grocery stores, usually around 20p or so each.
I'm not into alternative medicines at all, but they do a fabulous Pain Balm (bright yellow stuff) that I used for a headache this morning and it disappeared within minutes. They also do wonderful Ayurvedic face packs (about 50p), a 'Navratna' oil that is very cool and soothing and claims to help everything from muscle aches to premature hair fall, various soaps, indigestion tablets etc, all based on natural herbs.
Another thing I liked was the little bottles of jasmine hair oil, again about 20p.
I brought back loads of this kind of stuff and it only came to a few pounds!
Ooh no, I put it in the wrong forum! Was meant for the Goa boards. Sorry!
Van
Thank you!
Depending on where I am staying I pay 30 rps to 50 rps. I usually return with a big box of them and give a few away to friends as it costs £4.20 where I live.
The red tiger balm was 35rps. This is the only thing that one of my son's asks for me to fetch home!! He uses it for his football injuries...pulls, sprains etc.
