Robbing b******s. At least Dick turpin wore a mask.

And I bet new gullable tourists will pay this. Boycott this place. If this is going to be common practice Goan tourism figures will drop even further.

I would boycott fullstop, regardless of the prices. Plenty of other decent places to watch football if you need your fix.
J21 (Sports Bar) is well known for its loud mouthed, swearing, boisterous Brits on Tour brigade.
It's this kind of establishment and not the visa fiasco, local politics and baksheesh culture that will accelerate the demise of Goa and the decline in tourists.

Thats a disgrace- i usually go to the sports bar next to Menezies up past St Anthony church as they do all the games and the prices are good.
I'll be there on the 15th March for the Rangers v Celtic game, hopefully the gers will lift the cup!

Ok so heres a little bit more,I found the taxi rank outside Silver Sands to be O K regards prices the drivers only asked the once if we wanted a cab, & never ripped us off.we used Claudinas shack if we were on Candolim beach good food & service. The times we went to Baga beach we used 2 sisters not brill but conveinient.Sunset Beach is better but not if you want to go in the sea .I had read that prices had gone up,but in the main I found it was neglegiable, yes tourist numbers were down on last year but not by much.I didn't notice the massive influx of Russians I was lead to expect ,we Brits far outnumbered them lol.So my conclusions on Goa are unchanged if you want guarnteed sunshine,a curry lovers delight, cheap day to day living, then go for it.In fact we booked today for Jan 25th 2010 for another 3 weeks of bliss. Roll on 2010.

the usual place in everyones top 3 - East Meets West

Not even in my top 20, the food is very average and the ambiance is...sort of like a Goan wedding with a bad band. :duh

Glad you had a great time sakakaki dont blame you for boycotting the sports bar, its never appealed to me but am not a great football fan especially watching Newcastle at moment :( They are really taking the pee charging those kind of prices as it always seems to be quite busy in there!

I think the Sports Bar is the worst thing that happened to Candolim!!

Each to there own.
I love the sports bar, been using it for the last 5 years. The last 2 years they have been charging double on drinks when the football is on.But all the lads only ever charge me single prices:~)
