I also enjoyed your report Spike, the only thing I would disagree with was we felt that Floyds was very disappointing this year (I am assuming you do mean Floyds and NOT Floyds Hut). Fresh seafood platter was an expensive let down the night we went, wasn't fresh, squid like rubber and couldn't locate the prawns - won't be going back again I think, not so much because of the poor meals, but more because of their "couldn't care less attitude" when we complained. Been eating their for several years so felt really disappointed as it's been very good in the past.
I guess there will always be a let down at sometime, and you probably are not the first - shame, but untill we get a duffer of an evening will still be visiting here.
We enjoyed Flambe the last 2 years, but the reports this season were a let down, didn't get time to make a visit, so can't comment really.
Spike
Great report spike.. to me there is nothing like calangute on a sunday now thats what I call people watching cant beat it ....colleen
Hi Spike, thanks for your reply. Your probably right, maybe just a bad night but it is such a shame as we have had some great food and great times there over the years. We didn't recognise the waiter (manager?) same chap sat at the back and the same lady (I think they are the owners?) The place was empty apart from our group of 9 people. I did think the prices had risen quite a bit from last year too. I think on the whole the best meals we had were at Teama in Candolim and Franks at Baga at least that was the general concensus of the group (and me too) Fizz
Spike.
I hope next year Dabolim avoids the three flights in half an hour scenario. It was a complete farce and just puts a dampener on a the end of a great holiday.
When we arrived on the 8th our plane had to sit on the tarmac for ages before they could unload us AND there were 2 more planes behind us in the queue who had to wait until we had cleared - talk about a fiasco. Luckily we got our luggage quickly and got the hell out of there
Floyds Hut always have a few nights there, the staff are all great.hope its still as good, looking
forward to a few more meals there in Nov/Dec
annx
Floyds Hut was one of the few restaurants that appeared to be busy, or at least it was when we walked past - perhaps we should have gone there instead Fizz

We had the same problem on 29th March. The called certain row numbers for the front of the TCX plane to the gate (strange how they always make it sound like they have several gates, isn't it "would passengers for flight number XYZ who are in row numbers ABC please make your way to departure gate 1A" - as if they have gates 2A or 3A) - then they called row numbers for the rear of the plane THEN they called passengers for the Monarch flight to the gate, then the middle row numbers for our flight - it was heaving with people all trying to get through at the same time. It was extremely hot in there that day with so many bodies, worse I have known it.
Same with us.Clueless.Always have been always will be.
Also, what about the stupid shuttle bus they put on ? it filled up with the 1st ones off the plane and the rest walked, which is the best option I think - I can't see it getting any better.
Yes Spike, we actually used it to get out to the plane. It didn't really bother me about walking, the exercise would have done me good considering we were going to be sat down for so many (boring) hours!!!!! I only used it because it was there, can't remember seeing it there before But in all honesty, at least in our case, it was a waste of time really
I know there are some decent prices around, but its not in hotels where I want to stay, so will hang fire and see what happens over the next couple of months.
I know what you mean re Calangute. Much prefer it to Candolim as I think it is more interesting. But everyone to their own
