Hi all Got Back last night from 2 lovley weeks in tenerife, stayed in Parque Santiago 3 once again, whic i will mention more about on the topic for that.
The flight out with monarch was 2 3rds full and on the ruturn less that that
Weather was a bit hit and miss and speaking to some of the locals i know its been like that for a while, sunny first thing then clouding over around 12 ish, but we still had some great hot days.
Yes the euro rate was bad when we first arrived we got 1.16 but when we left it was 1.08 so quite a big drop, even when we used out nationwide cards.
Had some good nights out and meals including el cedros near Parque Santiago 2 and the Khong Tsha Chinese Restaurant Near Parque satiago 3, also went to the magic bar a few times good acts there but pricey Drinks, Also the new Mama Mia pizza And itatian restraunt was opening the night we left so didnt get to sample that.
We dint think that it was a busy as previous November / December, All in all we ha da wonderful time and if you want to ask any questions feel free.
Oh yeah nearly forgot the Beach at the bace of the Mare nostrum is now charging 5€ for each sunbed seems to have jumped up in price a bit since March so we got used to the sand lol .
Tenerife 2003
Are the prices of drinks and meals coming down?
Hi Stevsand, Unfortuantly not, if anything they have gone up, you can still get your deals like to the chinese buffet and cheap beer in the smaller bars but the restraunts around santiago 3 the prices have increased.
Must finish now and go back to the web cam .SueNick.
while the UK and Europe had snow at the start of February, we caught the tail end of the weather system with a north wind.......
it got strogner and stronger (the waves were fantastic!)
until (in Puerto Santiago) Thursday 5th February, when it started raining at 4.20 pm and went on in a deluge all night, with the wind and waves battering the rocks and making a terrific noise.
Next morning Mount Teide was covered in snow
so much that a trip to it, which we were on, was aborted at Tamaimo village, when news came that the National Park was closed due to snow falling to below 1500m.
We heard that it was the most snow they have had for 75 years, but we don't know if this is true.
By the time we were ending our holiday, the weather was hot and settled.......
