I am going to try to write something about my trip to Vietnam but I am not very good (and please excuse my grammar because I am czech)

Fiona, I read your report on Saigon before we went and I was little bit worried about crossing the road... well, if you go to Hanoi, it is 10 times worse

We stayed at Sofitel Plaza, which is around two kilometres from the centre. Our room was on the 15th floor and before unpacking we just had a look from the window. There was a roundabout next to the hotel and it was fascinating to watch all the traffic on it and people just going straing accross the roundabout... I was just shocked that nobody was killed!!!
When we got to the centre it was exactly the same. When we needed to cross the road for the first time we waited for some Vietnamese people

The second day we had a day tour of Hanoi. We went to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. It was Sunday so we were prepared for a long queue but as in many countries, there is different entry for tourists so we didn't have to wait that long. HCM looks like a statue from Madame Tussaud's

We went to the Army museum. You are allowed to take photos there for 5000 dongs.
In the centre of Hanoi is Hoan Kiem Lake. Vietnamese have some tales about it, apparently a huge turtle is suppose to live in it and anybody who sees the turtle will have luck. Well... at night we went to the local market and on the way back we saw a crowd of people looking at the lake. We went to see what is happening and guess what - we saw the turtle! We only saw the head because the turtle was maybe 50 metres from us but I can tell you that the head looked big. I am just hoping that, as thay say, we are going to have luck
