thought there would be some info by now on this thread.
maybe no-one likes Baga??

Baga beach is fantastic, yes a little bit busy. Cant wait to go back and visit the Oceanic Beach Shack, everyone is so friendly, its brilliant.
I think some of the best restaurants in Goa are in Baga like Casa Portuguesa and East Meets West.
The thing I loved about Baga is it is not as 'neon' as Candolim and I think it has a more Indian feel because of it, I also love the river end of the beach I think it is a lovely spot.
Baga is manic but I love it! Oceanic must be one of the best shacks on the beach, food is A1 and the staff are really great. Beach boys are so friendly. The beach sellers, once you let them know you are not going to buy anything are very interesting and a mine of knowledge. I used to take a book to read on the beach, dont bother anymore because there is always so much going on that I dont have time to read. If ever I need a break from the crowd, I just have a walk round the headland towards Anjuna. Very peaceful and a lovely shack on it's own on a little beach.
Last Xmas I think I only read one! Baga beach is a fabulous parade and I love it - can't wait to go back.. roll on Xmas.
I love Baga Beach too! Going back in February for the 5th time and we always use the Squeeze shack (I think it's next to Oceanic). I always take books with me but as has been said there is far too much going on to be able to read it's great.
The indian takeaway have started doing it up the road...mmmmm
Candolim is lovely, but baga is fun, and calangute is what i imagine real india to be like...
Roll on january
Hi Donna Is Squeeze the beach shack to the left of the Oceanic (if you were looking out towards the sea?) If thats the same one, then we've been there too and the staff are very nice. There is a nice barman called Nicky? He keeps asking us to go back in but as we spend most days in the Oceanic its difficult. However we have decided to go to their evening BBQ this year. Cant wait roll on Novmeber!!!!

Hi, no, Squeeze is to the right of Oceanic. Squeeze is the second shack on the beach, not sure what the first ones called. then its squeeze, another shack, then i think its Oceanic shack.
Hope this helps
I'm on a count down now, cant wait to go back
Ok thanks, Squeeze must be further along the beach, going towards the river. the beach shack to the right of Oceanic is called Lucky Star, and the staff in there are great as well.

Thats the one, Squeeze is next to the Lucky star.
My little lad kept running off into the Lucky Star shack and the staff were great with him!
I cant wait to go back either. Im going for a month this time, ive managed to get a month off university, but i need to bring some of my work with me

When are you off there?
Nicola
im going at for xmas and new year.although ive been there 4 times before, never at baga and never at xmas/newyear time.i normally go to candolim or cavelossim.im looking forward to trying different eating places, thats what i look forward too.i tried the boscos beach shack when i stay on baga beach for the day and the food i ate was of a very good quality.so its good to hear what other people recommend.i love food from the tandoori ovens like nan breads and the like.roll on 18th of dec.i would imagine its a lot more busuier than im normally used too at this time of year, also ive heard from people that its a great time with fire works on the beach, cant wait.
I will be in Baga with some of my friends from UK for a week around the new years time. Although I have travelled to Goa several times (both from here in UK and while living in India), almost 10 times in the past 15 years, I have never been in Goa during christmas or new years time and I am wondering what it would like. Are the clubs like Mambos, Titos and Cabana and Matrix in Arpora open? Are there many shacks in Anjuna, Vagator area? Is it difficult to get accomodation by the beach or near the beach around that time.

We will pop into Squeeze for a drink. Hope to see you there. Where are you staying in November?
Hi Nicola We are going to Goa on Nov 12th for 2 weeks. We are staying in Candolim for a wee change. However,we will still pop along to Baga beach during the day and go into the Oceanic.

we've had a slight change of plan .Still going to Goa in November, but only for 2 weeks

My parents are worried because its my last year of university, and they arent keen on me having a month off.
ah well, 2 weeks is better than nothing i suppose, ill just have to go for a month in April when ive got 3 weeks off uni, so ill only be missing a week.
We'll probably just get a late deal, so could end up anywhere.
No matter where we stay we always seem to end up at Baga beach.

Yes, cant wait
