Have you any places you would recommend that are not on all the tourist guides -either in Bangkok or a short trip out of it?
I have a week in December and am looking for new ideas
As you know from my trip report, we went to Bangkok again in march.
We had been before ,and wanted to do something different ,so we did a biking trip, combined with a visit to the floating market.
It was a really good day out, and great fun biking along the narrow village walkways by the river.
I have to confess ,i'm sure i got swore at by one poor old thai lady that i nearly ran into [ good that i can.t understand thai language!!!].
You ride along very quiet country lanes, and see quite abit of local life.
We kept taking a break for drinks and a rest, and we also stopped at several temples, and a local market ,really interesting.
Have fun

We go to Dusit Zoo to see the sunbears...and have a green bean and sweetcorn ice lolly. Its not too bad a zoo and the animals seem well cared for. Its also very much a Thai day out, often we are the only Westerners in the place. We have taken out a pedalo and pedalled around the Zoos lake. We've had Thai school kids interviewing us for their school project on the UK. The Thai food court is good as well, I haven't a clue what I ate there but it tasted nice.
afraid I don't do bikes :lol:Too energetic! Hubby does though.
Sunbear
haven't been to the Zoo- we will probably give it a go
