If you meant 31st May....Yes the children are off school its the old Whit Holidays...so it will be busy and it will be dearer as it is a school holiday.
Although you may save a days holiday because of the bank holiday, the cost will be greater.

Next year, 2011, Easter is very late. That means that Ascension Day which is a holiday in France, falls on Thursday 2 June and Whitsun, or Pentecost, when all the Germans and French are off for a long weekend, will be Sunday 12 and Monday 13 June. VERY LATE.

A trick I used to do to save my days was to come home on/around the B/H. If the kids aren't off the previous week those departures may not be dearer.

Mari, you could always depart midweek the week before which would be during term time, take in the bank holiday and return during the school week off- that would make it cheaper for you.
