Thats the big question here in turkey, possible they will sell it or the goverment will do something ith it. no one i have asked seems to know what they will do unless the ones that havent been domilished take the warning and pay for the proper license and permissions

would this have anything to do with the start of joining th eu?

I doubt that knocking a few bars down that wouldn't pay for a permanent license is anything to do with Turkey trying to enter the EU which will not be for about 10 years anyway.

I think a lot of people just decide to flout the law and the people who do pay for a proper license just get fed up and start to talk about it.

Also that are did need a clean up anyway so it can only be for the good of the resort in which trhe council have now decided to keep in top condition as anyone would have seen as the workers were out all day tending flower beds all through the summer.

Have to agree with JT. As a regular visitor to that area over the years I have noticed improvements each year. I recall about 3 or 4 years ago the promenade was widened and restaurants such as Uno Momento etc all had to move back a couple of yards. This was all for the better in my opinion. We also have the Gima just up the road which looks great and you can understand how the local council want to keep up appearances so to speak. Long may their improvements continue.

The "clean up" will not stop there.more restaurants away from the front have to be altered. The idea is enough space to walk by without being in the restaurant, The restaurants removed were illegal in that their facillities did not match up to requirements. I personally welcome the changes and hopefully the "bombsite" that is now the road system around Marmaris will soon be restored for you wonderful tourists!!!

Agree the Garden is superb. I think it will be ok as they were one of the ones moved back a couple of years ago.

When you come out of reception from Kocer you basically turn right and keep walking. And after about 2 mins you will be at basils its opposite the Fidan Center. Not on the main road.
