Hi, no I haven't stayed there, but I think all travelodges are the same, so you would get the basic amenities at a fair price.

And the location is good, it is central and within walking distance of the baths, shops, etc.

(it's over 20 years since I lived in Bath, so don't ask me anything difficult!)

Hope you have a great time!

I've stayed in 2 travelodges and they were identical in every way.

Double bed with sofa (convertible if needed) tea, coffee making facilities (about 3 of each). TV.

Bath with overhead shower, toilet and basin. Towels. Both were very clean and we didn't have any complaints

I stayed at the Travelodge in Bath in 2000. Very clean, comfortable and reasonably well situated ... about 7 mins walk down hill from the centre and about 15 mins to get back up!

However there was ONE MAJOR HEADACHE. The hotel has no car parking and you have to park in the public car park behind - a pay and display - so 'feeding the meter' was a constant problem.

However if you are travelling without a car I can wholeheartedly recommend it for a good value hotel well placed for visiting Bath.

There are bars open on George Street that serve breakfast, just along from the lodge itself, or you can roll down the hill into the old town and enjoy a Bath Bun at Sally Lunn's or even something healthy at the Pump room!

Hi
I have just returned from a weekend in Bath i did look at staying at the travel lodge but was put of by no parking on site. I can recommend The cheriton guest house http://www.cheritonhouse.co.uk. Double room from £75 with ensuite and spectacular views, plus you can leave your car there even the day you check out. 10mins walk into town 15mins back abit of a hill to climb back. Had a brilliant time there.

Hope you have a fab time to

Thinking of going to bath for two days, is there plenty to do there or will I be bored?

LOADS to do! Bring your swimming costumes and visit the Spa (timed entry tickets - 2 hour stay), visit the Roman remains, take tea or another enjoyable more calorific delight in the Pump Room (the water tastes VILE), visit the Jane Austen Museum, visit the town on an open top bus, go shopping(!), visit the Abbey, stroll over Pultney Bridge and enjoy the gardens, visit the famous semi-circle of houses (sorry forgotten the name) and visit the interior of No 1. Just stroll and imagine you're back in the Regency period! Walk along the Kennet and Avon canal and sample the beers at a canalside pub .... or if you can't stand any more of it, take a train to Bristol!

The Bath Spa project began in 1997 with a £7.78m grant from the Millennium Commission, and was scheduled for completion in 2001. In July 2003, it was confidently expected to open "in a matter of weeks", subsequently revised to "later this year". The Three Tenors were even flown in to perform at a celebratory concert. In the spring of 2004, it was due to open at the end of that year. In July 2005, it was announced that it would definitely be ready by April 2006, and that's the date currently on the website.

Reasons for the delays are various: the complex archaeology under the site; mallards nesting; insufficient water; the wrong kind of paint; legal wrangling between the council and its contractors. The cost has gone up, too: from £13m to about £37.5m.

The local council ratepayers have now forked out about £120 per head for an attraction that hasn't opened. That's about 7 times as much as Londoners paid for the Dome.

So, welshoney, don't buy that new swimming cossie just yet :(

Have you looked at Holiday inn express?
There's one in Bath and we've stayed in a few of their hotels around the country(but not that particular one!)
They are clean and modern PLUS breakfast is included!
