In my own experience it depends where you are staying. We were on the wrong side of the acropolis in Lindos last year and couldn't pick anything up but others said that they had no problem getting the World Service on the other side of town!

I am staying on the St.Pauls side of Lindos

That's the wrong side seagull! We stayed about 5 minutes walk from St Pauls in a villa. Sorry! Even if we had got a signal we may wouldn't have heard it due to the neighbours TV out on the flat roof, blaring away. Fortunately they went to bed early.

We stayed in Rhodes Town and could just about get the World Service.

However, we did have a TV and although the only English Station was Sky News - itv was worth tuning into some of the Greek channels who often show progs & films in Englsih (with Greek subtiltes)

But hold on why are we talking about TV and radio when we are on holiday???????????
