Beach erosion, Candolim/Sinquerim

We always use a shack near to the Kingfisher Villa, last year it was getting desperate due to beach erosion and we had to hike down a mountain of sand to get in the sea. Does anyone have news of how the beach is down there now, and down towards the Taj Holiday Village ? Thanks

It's much worse this year. It they can manage to put any shacks up, you will have to absail down to the beach. Very sad.

Thanks for that, whereabouts does it start to get bad, by the Kingfisher Villa or further down towards the TaJ?

Starts after the River Princess and gets progressively worse up to the Taj.

If you were staying in the phoenix park hotel and going to the beach from there :sun

would the river princess be nere the hotel part of the beach :?:

Hi Colleen it depends which road you go down onto the beach, if you go down the main beach road the ship is quite a way down to the left although still highly visible, if you go down the road by the Whispering Palms it brings you out more or less directly in front of the ship.

Debnpete I will try the beach at candolim you never know I may even like it there to ...can anyone tell me any shacks around the path that Debnpete is talking about :?:

Calamari shack is excellentand has spotless toilets which are checked and cleaned through out the day. They also have an outside shower for cooling you down if you want it.

36 days and counting cant wait

Ginlizzy thats going on my list I like the sound of the meadows (bogs)haha...they sound good im fussy about toilets and the shower outside what more would you want (apart from a few beers :glynis

regarding the damages done to coastal beach due to sand erosin. Near theTaj hotel almost all the sand washed away and big rocks come up. And ourside near the Victor's shack about 3 metres of sand washed away but the filling of the same sand taken place. Don't worry Victor is putting up the shack.

Thanks for replying, I know who you mean, but didn't realise he was related. he could be though, we have known Victor and Godfrey for many years and for some reason, they get a bit strange when it comes to discussing family. We love their shack, it's the first place we head to when we arrive, I hope the beach isn't too bad - we'll find out in 5 weeks.
