Hi,

You won't need watershoes for Bitez beach.
Its a mix of sand/shale, and is only a bit more shaley at the waters edge. But its not pebbly or rocky, and you can walk out in the sea for a long long way before you need to swim.

I,m going sunday may see you there. I have to say that although it is sandy i'm a bit of a weed and found the stones in the sea a bit uncomfortable so for the space they take up I think you should take your shoes. Youi may regret it again if not. Have a good time where are you staying

I would say, take your shoes. In some places it's OK but mostly gritty.

Whereabouts are you paddling to shore on your hands Briar ???

We usually go in the sea at Bitez on the main stretch, just to the left a bit of the main road that comes down to the beach from the taxi rank. We paddle in the sea and walk along parallel to the beach for maybe 10 minutes, then walk back again.

Maybe we have camel's feet and therefore don't need watershoes to get out of the sea?

Todays the day i'm off in a few hours and can't wait to be paddling in the sea, stones or no stones.I might even do a few cart wheels (maybe not, dont like getting my hair wet)
