Do you mean sugar or suara beach ?

It's a kind of private beach, they send out mini buses to the hotels to collect and return you for free, but in exchange would expect you to pay for lounge chairs, parasols and lunch to cover their costs of running the beach, keeping it clean, mini coach etc

But that's on the Lagoon isn't it Chris

yes i thought that was part of the lagoon, there is a beach next to lykia world, very peaceful but not sure if its that sandy, but its a taxi ride away or a very long walk up a winding main road , so definitely not safe for a pushchair

Yes it is on the lagoon, but not part of the main lagoon beach as it is kind of round the corner, so I thought that might be what the OP meant.

I know the beach you mean Karen it could be that one. It's a bit off the beaten track and I agree with you that you would be best in a cab, only I think it looked like it was pebbly like the Lykia World beach.

probably is shingly chris i never actually went on it, although when we were at lykia we were told we could use it, but that it didnt belong to lykia, not sure if that still applies. cant think of any other beach apart from the few around the lagoon area

hi all,

the beach near lykia world, the one you can see as you turn the corner on the cliff road is shingle, there were no loungers ... nothing there last year, I went the year before with my mate who works at LW and was told its for locals and the LW staff, there is a snack bar but it is or was run by LW ...serving only burgers, coffee etc

you will need a cab even from Lw the walk is a killer, not going there but coming back !!

Hi, The beach is called Kidrak beach and it is by Lykia, it is still very similar to the main beach in Olu Deniz shingle and pebbles, there was about 20 sun loungers when we went owned by the small cafe on the beach. The day we walked over about 100 turkish school children turned up on lots of buses, they were all primary school age and all came and talked to us to practice their English it was sweet but we did feel a bit stared at!! The only other people on the beach when we got there were a naked German couple and they left as soon as all the children came don't know why!! The walk was a long one up over the winding road to Lykia and would be very hot pushing a buggy we did walk both ways, you also have to pay to use the beach as it is national park.

Hi,

Just wondering how you go about contacting the correct people if you want picked up and dropped off to use one of the laggon beaches. Do you telephone them if so does anybody have a telephone no ?
Reply
The hotels usually have an arrangement with the various beach owners and they run the shuttle service. If you turn up at one of the beaches, you can arrange for the driver to drop you off, but they have to be careful where they drop you as the police are very strict re taxi services.

when we were staying at the Belcekiz year before last there were free standing boards standing outside the main entrance for each beach with a phone number .
ellie meg may have a phone number but I'm sure as parky says the hotel reseption will sort it for you as they are widely used.
