The hilton dreams does A1 and is over the peace road, mountain view. We actually looked at going here ourselves, trip advisor give very good feed back. You can use the facitlies at the Hilton Fayrouz over the road which is on the beach. The Hilton Fayrous is b & b and i love their facilities. I usually go to this hotel at night as they have lovely chilled out sections at night and the Pirates bar which anyone can go into, this has live music and a more lively atmosphere, good drink prices and branded alcohol. Everything at the Fayrous is spotlessly clean and food is very good.

Your other choice the Jolieville is literally at the end of naama bay. If you do not want to stroll anywhere and want everything 2 secs from your hotel then this is a good choice. They have there own entertainment, and very good restaurants. The resort is fairly big, but they have golf buggies which operate in the day.

My personal choice is the Hilton, whether Dreams all inclusive or b & b at the Hilton Fayrous 'sister hotel'. Being in the centre of NB is quite noisy at night when coming out of the clubs. That said, you can get rooms at the back of the JV complex, these are quieter. At the JV lots of different Nationalities, the Hilton has more English.

The Hilton Dreams is a quieter area actually in resort, it has shops virtually outside of the door, you will get a bit of hassle outside, camels etc, the guys wanting your picture for cash etc, also as with most shops get them coming over to entice you into their uncles 'shop'. If you are the dreams, you can eat lunch at the Fayrous if on b & b basis. It takes 5 mins to walk across the road (like duel carriageway in the UK) into the Fayrous to the beach, which is nice and flat. Once through the Hilton Fayrous it takes 5 mins to walk to Naama Bay via the promenade. If you walk from the Hilton dreams it would take approx 15 mins walk along the peace road.

I do not think food is anywhere cheaper than the UK prices now unfortunately it has gone up the last time we were there last November. That said, there are cheap places and nice restaurants to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice.

I hope i have given you a little incite :)

Sorry the Sakara Lager is cheaper than the UK and quite nice.

Branded spirits around £3-50 to £5-50 with mixer, it depends where you go, our local for JD and coke was £3.50, but hard rock cafe which is notorious for high drink prices came in at £5.50.

Their local stuff is a bit cheaper, but imo tastes awful, although some visitors take great delight drinking all the time on it with no problems, especially our unfriendly Russians :rofl

Thanks for your reply Michelle it was really helpful; I was a whisker away from booking AI at The Hilton Dreams, but before I pressed send my friend found a Thomson cruise around the Red Sea for a little bit cheaper AI as well, I haven't been on a cruise before either so can sample the different areas as well now whilst eating and drinking what I know I will enjoy,,, with,,, no Russians either! :)

Annmon,You will need Worldwide insurance for the Red Sea cruise as the ship is in Jordan for 48hours.
I nearly booked it at Christmas but I only have European insurance.

Whenever i go to Egypt i have always had worldwide insurance. Egypt isnt in the EU, so my travel agents always gave me the dear policy as it has the excesses waived which is always a bonus :D

My policy includes Egypt, Tunisia and Turkey depite then not been in Europe as they are defined by having a Mediterranium coastline.
Last year I had been to Egypt and Tunisia but when I wanted to renew my annual insurance I was told that they no longer included Tunisia and Egypt since the recent troubles(Direct Travel)
I renewed it with Insure and Go who still include these countries on a European policy.
It was only when I asked about the red Sea cruise that I was told because the ship is docked in Jordanian waters for 48hours I would need Worldwide insurance.Because of my pre existing conditions it would cost as much as the holiday for WW insurance!
When I have booked a holiday to these countries the agent always tries and get me to buy a Worldwide policy for the holiday which costs more than my annual one. :tup
