Hi mickey, welcome to the Majorca forum. We visit Majorca a lot, really love it there. We have been to the bellevue apts. twice with our grand children who were 14, 10 and 6 at the time. The area of alcudia used to be very marshy so you sometimes get a mozzy problem. They always home in on me!! I would suggest you get a mozzy machine, we were advised to plug it in the bathroom as it tends to be warm and damp there . You should also take antihistamine cream for bites. I also made sure I had a high factor sun block for the children and made them put t shirts on quite often especially around noon.Hope I'm not preaching to the converted, I only learnt by the children getting sunburned. There is always plenty to do there and you can board a boat to take you to the beach. One bar I would recommend is Don Pedros. Affordable priced meals, evening entertainment, quizzes are good fun, TV if you must have your fix of sport
Stayed at Bellevue 9 years ago now and we were in Don Pedros every night! Very friendly although I don't know what it's like now? I don't suppose Danny or Kev are still there or Oscar? Or Romina or Phillipe?
When we go in this year I'll ask where it is!
Yesterday I got some callipso Mozzie spray with Deet for £1.49 each from Home bargains!
I too have been to these apts about 10 yrs ago. They were very basic and on a big complex which I personally didnt like very much, i prefer a small complex but that is a personal choice. Plenty to do there, but we went to the bars not the entertainment on complex. Dont know the Don Pedro we went to Cheers which was great.
it is a bit of a trek when you want to go out and about you will do alot of walking!! as the beach and shops are away from this complex.
we booked with thompson so the children had entertainment in the evening (at a cost) but they enjoyed themselfs !.
cheers bar is good they have people dressed up as tweenys and bob the builder etc very child friendly
that is near to the beach.
we are going again next week but we are staying near the beach.
hope this has helped
IMHO there must be far nicer places to stay than the Bellevue :tongue. Admitedly, it is about 15 years ago that we visited but I can still remember the mozzies, lack of sleep, worse than basic accommodation and being ill with a really bad stomach bug. It might have changed but I would never go back.
neither would i really, we never ate at the hotel as was self catering.
Me and my family (hubby & 3 kids - 5mnths, 5yrs & 7yrs) are staying at the Bellevue Hotel in Alcudia next Sat (31st May) for 2 weeks. The hotel facilities advise there is laundry facilities - can anyone tell me if this is a coin operated machine that you can do the washing yourself, or do they offer a laundry service (which in my experience in other hotels costs a fortune!!). At home i am doing 3-4 loads a day, so i really need to know if i am able to wash the clothes myself or if i really have to take more clothes than i was hoping to!!!! Thanks in advance to all who reply.
we went last year, couldent find it anywhere so good luck to finding it
Hi, i know the Siesta apartments within the bellevue site definatly have washing machines that you can use yourself.I don't know where the bellevue's own facilities are,but at least you know there are some around to save you bringing stacks of clothes!
Thanks for that. I certainly need to keep my packing to a minimum, especially as we are taking buggy and babywalker (prob best to leave the kids at home - save all the hassle!!!)
Thanks again..........Marie
my son is at the bellevue even as we speak!!! I'll email him and see what he can find out. Mind you, he's a single bloke whose washing is done by mum when he gets home
Fantastic - although if he is a single bloke on holiday, i dont even think he will have time to check his emails, never mind do his washing!!! Thanks for doing this anyway, and ill look out for your reply if you hear back from him!
Thanks again........Marie
I am interested in this hotel can anyone tell me a bit more about this? I have a concern that the complex may be to big to keep an eye on your kids?, they love there independance, but I always like to know where they are I have two boys age 11 and 7. thank you
