Hi there

We're in alcudia at the moment and yes the bellevue has been seriously overbooked. We had a phone call to say thet we were in the Alcudia Pins and then that we were in the Hotel Simar in a different area of the island. When we got to Palma airport none of the reps knew where we were going. We were given a letter saying that we were in the Marte, but taken to the Simar. The Simar had no booking for us, and the rep phoned her manager who eventually got back and said that we were still booked in at the Alcudia Pins. We got to the Alcudia Pins at 4.30am and they hadn't allocated us a room. So although we are here, it feels as though we're meant to be elsewhere as none of the reps have a record of us!!

Hope it all runs more smoothly for you guys!!

God thats horrendous, what a terrible way to treat a paying customer!!!

I hope that this doesnt spoil your holiday too much, and that you enjoy the Alcudia Pins.

You can get the bus up the road into the old town, or the Bellvue area, or Peurto Pollensa, and in the other direction you can be in Can Picafort in 10 minutes.

Hope you have a wonderful time in spite of all this!

It has been a bit of an ordeal to get here to be honest. We are going to seriously complain when we get back as you say, it's just not the right way to treat a paying customer. I was also a little worried as we were the only people dropped off at the Alcudia Pins from our flight and as they have no record of us being here, I'm a bit sceptical as to whether there will be a coach laid on for us to get to the airport on Wednesday am (v.early about 1am!!) the reps are their usual selves, telling us not to worry. But what good is that when it was such a job to get here?!

DO NOT WAIT WHILE YOU GET BACK! to complain put your complaint in writing now to the reps make 2 copies of the complaint and get the rep to sign your copy in acknowlegment that they have recieved that complaint, do not wait while you get back, the tour company will not enterain your complaint saying that you did not give them the opertunity to put things right, you`ve got to play these people at their own game, don`t be fobbed of, they`ve taken your hard earned cash under false pretences, the contract that is formed when you pay your deposit works both ways!

Hi , i dont know why , but all in the school holidays ,Mayorca always gets overbooked,i have seen it with 2 coach fulls of poeple who should have stayed at the Club Mac Complex and so did a member of my family who went a differant time to me, i think not going to Bellvue you have had a lucky escape, we went thier some time ago and hated every minute we was in our apartment, its very roudy and theri was lots of things being stolen when we where their, one family had all thier luggage stolen and was going home the same day. i think they have to many planes going out thier and not enoough hotel space to to take everyone all they are interested in is filling the planes and worring where they will send everyone when you get their. :hmmm

Just got back from the Bellevue having had a really great time...we stayed in Neptune 2, had a great apartment, clean and spacious with a great view over the pool and lake.
We originally booked self catering but upgraded to half board when we arrived, the food was bog standard buffet....not spectacular, but perfectly acceptable. Breakfast was good, dinner had quite a lot of choice. The only problem we had was that a load of spanish students were staying at the same time and at 8.00pm every night descended on the restaurant like a plague of locusts and made it impossible to get any food ( we later found out that there were 300 hundred of the buggers...really rowdy and particularly ill-mannered) we duly complained and were instantly transferred to another restaurant which actually was much better.
The complex was as we remembered it from our previous visit 5 years ago, plenty to occupy the kids, and shows on every night. we were told on the phone by the hotel and hotetur, that the all inclusive option was quite limiting and did not cover the show garden, but we found when we arrived that it was much more comprehensive that that and there was actually an all-inclusive drinks bar IN the show garden.(although the queues were quite large).
All in all we had a great time and would recommend anyone with kids to stay here and definately would consider a third visit....don't be put off by the bad reviews you read on this site, the staff were very helpful, if we needed extra towels ect, they were delivered within 20 mins, and on our arrival they insisted that they take us to aour acommodation by van and drop us off!
At the end of the day if you want 5 star treatment pay for it and go to a 5 star hotel, for what we paid for this holiday we certainly got value for money.
The resort itself is also ideal for families, plenty of nice bars and value for money restaurants with things for the kids to do, the beach is really nice too, although i would recommend you take the boat fron the complex to the beach...you still have a little walk when you get off, but the part of the beach you end up at is much quieter with plenty of sunbeds, and a lovely shallow part of the sea for the kids.
Also on the question of late check out, we didn't need it ourselves but spoke to a couple who had asked and were given prices for it subject to availability, the were unfortunately told on the day that they were fuly booked and nothing was available, which i can quite believe as even though it was early June it was still quite busy (without being crowded).
And there don't seem to be many mozzies about either, hardly saw one in the show garden in contrast to last time we were there when there were swarms!

Well, we're back! I made my complaints known to the reps who all agreed that it was a dreadful way to start the holiday. I had no complaints with them though, as it was because they were under informed that the problems occured. Anyway... we had a lovely week and the Alcudia Pins is a nice family resort, but you do have to travel to get to anywhere with a bit of life. I was so pleased that we weren't at the BelleVue in the end as it looked bloody awful!!

I'm also going to the Bellevue,on the 17th July. I stayed there a few years ago with my family and we didn't have nowhere near as many problems as are being reported on here lately. I hope we dont have to be moved as we wont arrive at Bellvue until about 4 am and I doubt I'll be in the friendliest of moods

hi to the 2 people travelling to the bellevue the reason that all of us on the coach got moved was because they said there was something wrong with the hotel which in fact there wasnt it was just overbooked as i had read it on the forum before we went they denied it being over booked but the hotel we were at was a 4 star an also half board with free air con

Hi Sharon. Have you stayed at the Bellvue before? I think you had a lucky escape. Was your hotel/food ok? Hope you enjoyed your holiday in spite of the return journey.

Sharon - no need to get all personal love.

I notice you haven't ventured back to the complaints board where nigh on the entire site has expressed their amazement that anyone could do something so stupid but hey, if it makes you feel better to have a go at me for something you did then fine, crack on

As for wishing the same thing happens to me - well that just ain't gonna happen love becos' I will NEVER EVER be stupid enough to stick TEN bottles of vodka in my suitcase!

Never mind, lesson learnt for next time eh!

To the Mods I apologise in advance for this post and realise I will probably get my hands smacked but felt it needed saying!

Bit dubious about booking this place because of all the mozzies but just found a deal to good to miss. Can anyone recommend which part of the complex I should request we are staying half board in a one bedroom apartment and need to be as far away from the lakes as possible. Thanks

To be honest, Michelle, I don't think it will make any difference, but the Fedra apartments are the furthest from any water (except the pool).

You will still have to walk past all the lakes to leave the complex. My wife got bitten although we were in the block right at the back. The blocks at the back are a lot quieter though , we had a good holiday there but the following year we returned and were in a block over the main road and the noise at night was awful.
